this is actually great news since all the idiots who are direct linking/ don't have their own offers in my niche won't stand a chance. define "significant traffic" by the way because i only received ~10k additional impressions/day when hiking my bids from 0.31 to 0.62 in Canada last week.

Same thing for me! don't quite get what's up with that tough...

also, how many of you find PoF to be the new FB in terms of approvals? I understand we have to put less racy/sexy pics, but even on not so sexy pics, they declined my ads! and when its not a picture reason, they give me the LP not working/compliant...Which is irrelevant! Quite disapointing from PoF...

Yep, experienced that as well. While you have to resubmit a few times now to get it through, fortunately it's still not as strict as FB.

Depends who you're targeting.. is 10k impressions a huge increase % wise? You might just be targeting tighter than most?

58000% (expected is 100%)

:rasta:

LOL I thought you searched "weed" with that smiley.. interestingly enough when I searched "weed", the ppl with the most "weed" mention in their profile are:

GENDER:
Male: 111.97% (expected is 100%)

AGE:
18-24: 234.43% (expected is 100%)

DRINKERS:
Often (>3 times/week): 326.67% (expected is 100%)

HEIGHT:
198cm (~6'4"): 271.43% (expected is 100%)

INCOME:
Income not specified: 11220.0% (expected is 100%)
Less than $25,000: 129.01% (expected is 100%)
$150,001+: 187.72% (expected is 100%)

So 6'4" guys, young, drinks often and either make a little or a LOT?

No, it wasn't weed ;)

It looks like the 'income not specified' category has potential for very high percentages

do you think that is reliable?

Has ad approvals changed? Even a few weeks ago they were typically approved within the hr on weekday and within a few hrs on the weekend, but lately I submit in morning and won't be approved until late in the day. Today....stuff from the morning, still not approved.

just about to comment on this. pending for ~5 hours.

Doubtful, there's not make accounts that don't have income specified so it could be just really low account #'s that make up the huge %.

Depends on the day, some days are faster, some slower but we always go through the queue before 5pm PST.

In other news, I'll be in Vegas for ASW! Will get a room rented for private 1 on 1 meetings with you guys. I'll keep you guys posted on when this is confirmed but if you're serious about banking on POF, you cannot skip this opportunity.

POF wish list thread was closed before I could respond...

1. Keep CPC out, CPM is better for reasons mentioned on that thread.
2. Less blocking of offers with little to no warning and questionable justification. The pool of offers you can promote on PoF is shrinking at an accelerating rate...
3. Some way to know if you're bidding too high to be the #1 ad shown and/or just doing $0.01 over the next highest bid like most ad platforms.

Ahh I guess I overstepped my boundaries when I created 2 POF threads. My bad!

Here's summary:
- Grouping campaigns
- Demo estimator
- Bid estimator
- smaller mile radius
- day parting
- Longer session times
- keyword targeting
- CPC
- CPM bidding position
- Showing # of conversions for the current day
- Creative conversion tracking
- profit/ROI calculation from inputted conversion value.
- mass delete declined/inactive ad
- less fat chicks

There's still a TON of offers you could run on POF, you must be speaking towards the dating vertical ;)

Ben, what are the ranges of ctrs you see on the 110x80 ads? I've tested about 6 campaigns there and exact copies of ads doing well on FB and content network are getting .02-.05 ctr, and even my best performing ad is getting like .067 over 20k impressions making my cpc about 50 cents or so, and i'm sure you know not many offers have high enough epcs that can work with 50 cent clicks. All my ads targeted females 18-26 with session depth >3 without PHD's/postdoc degrees and again, the ads worked on other platforms. Why can't I get above .06 ctr or so? Am I not bidding high enough, and hence getting unoptimized placements? What's considered a good ctr, wat's considered average, for those type fo small format ads? Thanks

One of the biggest mistakes people make is the "what worked on ___ will work on POF", which is untrue. Dating traffic is it's own beast and while it's considered social traffic, it's not exactly the same as something like FB. I'd aim for a 0.15% CTR.

I know Ben mentioned that approvals will be slower than usual since the PoF crew is going on a weekend retreat, but has anyone gotten any approvals since Friday mid-day? I have some ads sitting in the queue and was wondering if it's a fluke, or if they aren't approving at all while they are away.
