yahoo is shutting down delicious, buzz, and others...

yahoo is also letting microsoft manage their entire advertising business, quite possibly the biggest fuckup in their company's history.

Maybe I am giving Yahoo! to much credit...but they MUST have tried to sell delicious or something....

wtf...

anyone wanna write a letter...Ill go halfsies on the purchase with someone? Think we can get it for a few grand?!?!?!

So this this guy leaked the screenshot via Twitter (the story and cropped images of the screenshot are on Mashable, so the image link is down ).

But the most incredible part of the whole story was the Yahoo! Executive Vice President and "Chief Product Officer" replies with this dribble:

Really dude? Can't wait to find out how you got the web cast. Whoever it is, gone!

Incredible failure of leadership. Praise in public, criticize in private. Telling people they're going to be fired in an insanely public broadcast is just ridiculous.

Eric (bpm140) was the founder of mybloglog, that's how he got it. He must still know people who managed his site in Yahoo. Doesn't surprise me though - the way Yahoo was throwing around cash 2005-2007 for startups with poor business models had to come home sometime.

It's right yahoo is dying and it's right its employees are fired in that ridiculous way.
Even a monkey should find a way to monetize delicious and mybloglog. What a waste of resources.
I have to stop using YUI libraries even if are great.

So... Yahoo's core competency is not social bookmarking, not blogging, and not advertising. I guess their core competency is Reuters articles on yahoo.com then?
