I've searched through all the threads here and have seen all the different recommendations, but looking to see if anyone has any updated opinions? I'd be uber grateful if you have a recommendation; price is NOT important.

Zero Tension Ergonomic Mouse

Anyone used it? Looks like it will solve the whole mother fuckin problem, however it looks sluggish for detailed mouse movements and seems to be cheap plastic according to the reviews.

take care of your body better, exercise, stretch, diet etc...
 
I have that Microsoft Ergonomic Wireless Keyboard and Mouse. It fixed a lot of problems for me. However, after I switched to a different desk, my wrist hurt. I figured out it had to do with the hight of my chair and what supported my arm, since the chair I use is not adjustable for the arms. It didn't work well with how the desk was shaped since I couldn't slide in closer, and the top of the desk is just too high.

Anyway, you might look into getting your arm wrests even with where you use your mouse. Once I figured out how to extend my slide-out section for the keyboard (since there was a pullout section for the mouse on that) it all worked out better for my wrist. All it needed was a drill and some screwdriving.
 
Might be Carpel Tunnel (Or however you spell it). Anyways, I use a bag filled with herbs (That you freeze) and microwave it whenever I want to use it. I tie it around wherever I have pain before I go to sleep and when I wake up it's all better. If I find a link for it I'll send it to you... I got it a while back, so I don't even remember what they're called.
 
I tried different wrist positions, an air mouse, a trackball, and what finally did it for me was having two different mousing positions... One right beside my keyboard as usual and the other 2 feet to the right and down about 5 inches.

When my wrist shows the slightest bit of fatigue in on position, I move to the other immediately. It usually takes me about 1.5 days of hardcore mousing to reach that point.
 
Found one of the biggest factors was proper chair height to your keyboard and mouse. Your arm should be able to sit on the armrest and come in nice and level to your mouse. You don't want your wrist doing extra flexing because your arm is coming in at an angle.

+1 for the logitech mouse- killer unit and really helped me, as did making sure my arm is at the same height as and rests on my desktop. Those two things solved all the problems I was having.

EDIT: I keep my chair a bit higher and work from the desktop- no slide-out tray, etc. This makes me sit up a bit straighter as well and seems to force a better posture. Works for me.

I also do not have a slide out, always seemed way too low.

firstly wankers cramp can be a bad thing... so my first piece of advice stop wanking...


seriously you should get some scenar treatments. I had hand siezures where I could not move my fingers at all... it was due to a nerve in my wrist being compressed... anyway after finding out my options of either micro surgery or scenar I opted for the scenar device. after 6 treatments and 3 years on I have not had any symptoms or issues with my wrist or hand...

cost was about $300 as opposed to $2k with 1-2 months of downtime.
 
Switch the mouse to your other hand for 3 days.

I did this a few months back - pain in right wrist / forearm went away, and i've been using the mouse with the left hand ever since.

Also, positioning the mouse a few inches lower than the keyboard has helped.
 
Oh the dangers and stress of working online! Remember to write off any medicine, its a work related expense!
