My mom was going to Church in downtown San Francisco and as she was pulling out of the parking lot her car was t-boned by a 1980s Honda Civic (street value, $500?) driven by an illegal immigrant maid (I'm assuming, based on the sheer amount of cleaning supplies in her car.) Thankfully nobody was hurt but a lot of inanity soon followed.

The driver of Civic had no drivers license, no insurance, and couldn't speak word of English. My mom's BMW was completely totaled while the Civic was still able to operate. Nonetheless, when the cops showed up they refused to do anything to the driver of the car. Apparently the fact that the driver had no license or insurance (both illegal) has no relevance to the accident because the woman wasn't pulled over in motion or some other BS. Nor could you double check her citizenship status because San Francisco is a sanctuary city.

And just as expected, a few days after the accident this person is no where to be found. The car was registered to some non-existent person (or also nowhere to be found). Essentially the driver got out of the situation without any repercussions except wrecking her POS $500 Honda. Fortunately my parents are blessed with full coverage insurance and the dealership hooked em up with a rental car in the mean time, it's still a shitty situation and could have been much worse for someone if:

1.) Someone got injured and has to pay five figures in medical bills.
2.) They don't have full coverage insurance and have to pay for car repairs out of their own pocket.

I guess this is just a rant and I expect a coolstorybro.jpg, but we really need immigration reform in this country asap. I don't know how this issue got swept under the table, but I guess the whole healthcare clusterfuck is taking up everyone's time.

That is why you should invest in good insurance doesn't matter where you live or what you do shit like this does and will happen.
 
damn i have a market value as of today +20G ride, but lately due to business, cannot afford full coverage on it.

I would have gone nuts. I live in San Diego, without a vehicle you are pretty much handicap around here.
 
The same thing happened to me here in FL, but the guy got deported.

I was driving my CBR600RR when a mini van in front of me locked up there brakes and started to skid sideways, I quickly merged into the right lane to find a ford escort backing out of a one way street into the 2 lane highway with traffic going 60MPH - the car was right in the middle of both lanes sideways and I tried to make it around him but squeezed my brakes a little too hard and they locked up giving me no traction to get around him (my bad too I know) so I hit the front side of his car throwing me from the bike and sliding for 20-30feet.

the driver was and illegal immigrant with no drivers license, visa or insurance on the car.

Leaving me to pay the (totaled) bike off and I only owned it for 3 months.

Wow that is pretty amazing, America is way too soft.

I will tell you one thing. If it was the other way around and this happened in Mexico, the white guy driving with no license and no insurance would not only spend some nice time in jail but he'd have his pockets emptied by the time they let him out.
 
Sorry about you moms car but in reality Imigration has nothing to do with this story. This just as easily coulda been a meth addict that had no insurance. There are millions of "Americans" that dont have any car insurance in this country. Anyone who has decided that her car wasnt "worth it" to keep full coverage on it knows the risk when they take the collision off. As to the medical thats why you have Uninsured motorist covg for this exact situation.

Sucks that that happened to your mom, but let's say your #1 scenario happened to the driver of the uninsured car. Guess what would happen? They wouldn't pay a DIME for their healthcare coverage, as illegal immigrants (unfortunately) get a free ride from the pockets of American tax payers. This is something that should definitely be reformed, as billions of American tax dollars are paying for illegal immigrants or uninsured patients to get free medical/hospital care.
 
this same thing happened to me, except it was a 20 year old white girl. she was drunk. she ended up with 4 misdemeanors after that accident. thank God i had full coverage. at least she's paying for her mistakes, but i still feel sorry for her. i got out of that with check from the insurance company (minus the deductible).

damn, at least get uninsured motorists protection on it. this past weekend, i was side swiped and pushed into a high curb and telephone pole, and the other guy drove away as a hit and run. i have full coverage and thought it would be collision covered (which wouldve been a 1k deductable and higher monthly rates) so i was pissed. My agent later told me that because it was a hit and run, its only a 300 deductable, it doesnt go on my record (no bump in rates) as it was covered under my uninsured motorist protection.
 
Nobody is going to reform anything because Republicans, Democrats and the US Chamber of Commerce and their big business overlords want cheap labor and votes.

In high school our jeep was t-boned by an illegal running a red light and both my friend and I were ejected and ended up landing in the bushes of the median with some nasty cuts and bruises. Scumbag had no insurance, no license, and told the officer the car was registered to his cousin.

The only way you are going to put any dent in illegal immigration is by going after someones bottom line and that means fining employers and eliminating the real draw for the illegal immigration in the first place.

(Not directed at OP) This wouldn't be such a problem if we would just make it possible for them to become citizens. Immigration drives me nuts, the country was founded on the idea that ANYONE could come here and make a better life for themselves. Its complete bullshit that today we have so many people crying that immigrates are the problem. Where the fuck did your family come from? Just because you got here a generation or two before them doesn't give you the right to complain. Our country is only 234 years old... Mine wasn't here before 1776.

I am very sorry to hear about what happened to your family and I am glad they are ok, but this has nothing to do with immigration. If you have a problem with people having protection for not being citizens then you need to ask why they are not allowed to become citizens (as you mentioned).

There is so much wrong in everything you said above.

First, no part of this country was founded on the principle that anyone could come here and make a better life. It was founded on the principle that the English were over-oppressive, over-taxing, fuckheads that only wanted to exploit the Colonists for as much tax money as they could (Sounds a bit similar to today's politicians)

Second, I'm sick and fucking tired of ignorant retards repeating the overblown mantra of "we're all descents of immigrants" and because of that, we should open up the floodgates and allow every uneducated, jobless, unskilled retard to enter the country.

I'm not (and I'm guessing most people here aren't) against immigrants coming here and becoming *productive fucking members of society*. On the other hand, I do have a problem with the fence jumpers that come here to stand outside the local hardware store begging for work because they came here with no prospects. I have a problem with these jobless, unskilled, uneducated fucks coming over here and collecting welfare from my tax money. I have a problem sending these illegals kids to school on grants funded with my tax money.

How about the statistics of high crime in areas that also have a high percentage of illegal immigrants?

If you have an education or a job lined up and want to come to this country to work, pay taxes and be a contributor to society, then I'll be the first one to welcome you as long as you obey the law. If you don't know your ass from your elbow, can't speak English, are going to drive without a license or insurance (which puts everyone at risk) and are going to leech on our pathetically generous welfare system, then fuck you.

I know plenty of people that immigrated here from other countries and created a successful life for themselves and their families. Shit, one of the most successful car dealerships in my area was started by a Russian Immigrant who came here with nothing, worked his balls off to save and then scaled from there.

You know what *does* give me and every other American on this forum a right to complain? We have a fucking job. Pay our taxes. Contribute to society and the economy. Myself and many other people here run businesses that indirectly support their employee's families. Fuck you if you think we can't complain about some piece of shit sneaking in here to exploit the system.
