Ok, I'm sick on Outlook. The search feature never works properly and it's slow.
I keep a shit ton of emails on my system.

What alternative should I look at for large amounts of email?

Thanks for any advice

I just started using Thunderbird, and I am totally sold. Search is easy, tabs like tabbed browsing (which I am still getting used to, but I like it), and it just works. Unlike Outlook or Mac Mail, which both gave me fits. I think you can migrate everything from Outlook as well.

My suggestion is to give RitLabs 'The Bat' a go and see if you like it.
If it wasn't for Outlook 2007's task-lists and calenders, that's what I'd be using.
I don't like Thunderbird or Outlook 2010.

Haven't heard of The Bat in ages...wasn't that what all the Russian e-whore-er's/spammers were using years back?

Used Thunderbird for years. It's not robust enough to handle high volumes of mail.

I suggest getting a Google Apps Account.

I like Thunderbird, I have used Outlook and Apple Mail as well. I would be open to other options if I saw something I thought was better, but for now Thunderbird is working well.
