Insanity or P90X for overwieght, but fit Person?

well, i don't really give a shit if it's slow compared to someone who runs a lot. i'm a powerlifter, not a racer. when all you runner faggots are benching 350 and deadlifting 600lbs like me you can start telling me cardio doesn't cause strength loss.

Who gives a shit if you can bench 350 lbs or deadlift 600 lbs if you can only do a single rep? LOL. And how come self-proclaimed "powerlifters" never see the big picture when it comes to healthy exercise?

you're clearly the troll here.

you're clearly the troll here.

Dude, you came into a P90X-related thread, said it was for pussies, said cardio made you lose muscle (and that it was for pussies), and bragged that you could deadlift 600 and bench 350. It's pretty obvious you're the troll here...

yes, cardio makes you lose muscle and is for pussies.

My concern with P90X is, I cant do a pull up and I hear there are lots of them.
If you can't do real pull ups they show you a way to do it with a chair. I would definitely say try out p90x. Anyone who doesn't think it works clearly hasn't been able to finish it. It does work.

I would also run a few times a week if you wanna lose more fat. Or you can do the double version which includes the cardio work out.

HAHAHAHA Cardio for pussies? Not necessarily my dude. I respect powerlifting and bodybuilding etc. but c'mon, that statement is fucking stupid and ignorant.

Tell any Boxing or MMA champion that cardio is for pussies. They will pound any musclehead into a coma without much effort.

Cardio is life or death in the ring, I wouldn't call warriors with relentless stamina pussies.

Just because Jay Cutler is jacked as all hell, doesn't mean he can step into the ring with Iron Mike who did mostly bodyweight exercises in his prime.

Man, I got a little confused with this latest round of posts. I bought P90X. It should arrive at my house on Wed. If I do P90X and run 3 miles a day, will the running actually cause my body to break down muscle? I have heard it would. But, I thought burning fat while building muscle was the way to go.

I entered the BeachBody Club and I am signing up for the Contest. So, I wasnt to do what it takes to get results in 90 days, and I am pretty sure the 100's of winners are doing more than just following the meal plan and doing P90X once a day.

Cardio doesn't break down muscle. Go ahead with the running, as you'll be burning fat while your gaining lean muscle. Ignore jenzkc (He doesn't know the first thing about healthy excercise).

Bro I bench 400+ so that argument is thrown out the window. And deadlifted 600 lbs in highschool. All i'm saying is that you say running is for pussies when running is critical in any exercising regiment. No matter what your trying to accomplish. For me running helps me lose FAT not muscle. And helps my endurance.

Cardio CAN make you lose muscle, but it is completely dependent upon when you do it, the intensity, the time, and your caloric intake.

@OP - lower your caloric intake. period to lose weight. Walk so that your heart rate is higher for 30 minutes per day. Do push ups, pull ups, bar dips. No equipment needed. That's all there is to it. Done.

This alone you can lose 3-5 lbs a week and you will get the swimmer look. Oh, you could do some swimming.

Screw all the other BS.

Depends on the program that you're going to do.. you can achieve the same results whether you're using p90 or the insanity program. If you're going to use the p90 then you want to look into doing the lean version of the program and if you're going to do the insanity..understand the difference you're talking about max interval cardio.. now I think that you'll probably lose the weight faster if you're doing insanity simply because you're looking at an increased burn of the calories that you're taking in.. insanity will not give you the breaks and rest that p90 will.. so given the details that you've already provided, IMO I would just go with the insanity program..

Thanks, accept I already bought P90X and a set pf weights and bands. I also got the GNC body cleanse.

I don't want to read this whole thread, but I'll give you my advice should you care to heed it.

Step 1: Read "You are what you eat" and follow it to a tee. If you are not vegetarian, feel free to add organic chicken, fish, and lean turkey anywhere in there. Reading the entire book is important, and it can change your life if you take it seriously.

Step 2: Start jogging long distances. Long sustained cardio, especially running, is great for your body and overall health in more ways than I can list on this page. Start small, get all stretched and hydrated and start running around a track, or something you can judge distance with. Run until you feel like you can't take another step - not until you're "tired of running". I like to say that the amount of work you put in AFTER you are tired, is what you really get out of a workout, and helps you push farther next time. Continue this 5 out of 7 days of the week, make it a habit. If you can do this, AND follow step 1, I guarantee you will lose 10-20 lbs in the first few months and feel like Obama felt on Monday.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions...

Cheers
