This guy is bad ass...

I have to partially agree with subigo, that this guy is an idiot. He was stupid enough to drive without a license in the first place.

Why is it that some of you are applauding the fact that some criminal was driving without a license, made a false 911 call, and may have had drugs or weapons in his car?

It's not like this is a movie, it's real life and who knows...this guy could be selling drugs to kids, weapons to gangbangers, maybe he lost his license from driving drunk or something. People like this are trash, it's unreal how anyone could think this is cool or "winning."

I'm defending him because:

A. I don't like cops.

B. Selling drugs isn't a big deal to me.

C. I like weapons and "gang bangers" are going to get weapons with or without this guy.

D. I like to see people trick the cops and get away or at least get away with a lesser offense.

E. I don't like cops.

Why do you dislike cops so much? Sure, there's a lot of BS that goes on and most people have stories about cops being dicks, abusing power, etc. But at the end of the day, we need them.

The key word is "may have". Would you feel disgusted letting an old woman take your place on an overbooked plane, knowing that she "may" be planning to blow it up?

Likelihood is, it was just a traffic violation. Assuming otherwise is just guessing.

If you accept the theory that proposes that he did this to get out of a trafficking charge, there's no reason to believe that he actually was driving without a license... That's just something he told the cop.

I think a lot of us are simply applauding his creativity, wit, and execution, not supporting his behavior morally...

I don't need them, you may, but I don't. I have various guns in the house which I trust more than any fucking cop.

I don't need cops, I don't respect cops, and I do not like cops. I make no excuses for my hatred of cops. I don't wish to speak about it anymore TBH. If you have a friend or a family member who's a cop, then forgive me but this is just the way I feel.

lol. So "you" don't need cops? What do you think the world (that *you* live in) would be like without laws, law enforcement, etc? I'm fine dropping it, not looking to get into an argument...you'll probably change your mind one day when you're a little older.

If you came home one day and found your apartment burglarized: PC, guns, AV equipment, your weed stash, petty cash all gone would you call the cops and file a report or would you just say "fuck it" and file a renters/home owners insurance claim and go about your business?

Or maybe you wake and find your car stolen, call the cops or no?

Innovative? I guess. Stupid? Yeah, hes went from a simple speeding ticket to a whole slew of additional fines and possible jail time. (Which, depending on what the hell he had in his car, that might be better.)

This guy however? Brilliance. (He craigslisted an half dozen or so decoys, robbed a bank, and escaped in a fucking raft.)

*This* guy was brilliant.

I'd say that I agree largely with l2 but I'd probably call the cops, if I thought it was a situation in which they could help (such as locating a stolen vehicle). That doesn't mean I trust them or want anything to do with them or am glad they are here.

The people who become cops are generally bullies and/or have some sort of inferiority complex, and I don't like that those type of people are being given power and authority.

His morals aside, it is pretty awesome thinking. Actually makes me wonder whether it was a spur of the moment thing or he always had that as a plan if he ever got pulled over while carrying something illegal.

Since this seems to have turned into a discussion about cops, I figured I'd chime in with something interesting I learned awhile back. It explains this behavior a little further.

Cops, by and large, are drug addicts. Almost all of them.

Bear with me here; I know it sounds a little crazy.

It works like this, Adrenaline (pernerphrine, if I remember right) is actually a drug. Just like Ecstaty is little more than a huge dose of serotonin (The chemical that your brain feeds you to feel happy, or pleasure.)

When a cop first gets out of training, hes scared as shit; all the time. He doesn't know if that middle aged dude in the minivan is going to go psycho and shoot him; so he gets an adrenaline rush.

Now as the cop continues to get this rush, he also becomes accustomed to his work; he stops getting that rush from a simple traffic stop. But hes very, very hooked; hes an adrenaline junkie.

So he begins to look for situations that provide that rush; maybe when he busts somebody with some drugs he leaves the one of the cuffs intentionally unlocked or to loose. He begins to be more aggressive, to try to get a rise; and thus that adrenaline rush, from the same old situations.

I'm not saying it justifies the behavior, but it does help to explain it. Up until I picked up this bit of information, I always wondered why almost ALL the cops I met seemed overly, and unnecessarily aggressive.

Finally,

Note that I'm not disagreeing that the profession often attracts a certain kind of individual - but you do have to realize not all the guys who go into this field are like that.

It *is* a dangerous job, and just like the military it often attracts two kinds of people. You've got your idealists, and your sociopaths. (I'm assuming that very few are "in it for the money", but I guess thats a third category.) This bit of knowledge helped me understand why the idealists seem to go so wrong, given enough time.

TLDR; Cops get addicted to adrenaline without even realizing it. It makes them act like dicks.

No offense, but that's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

I have to agree with my fellow scholar, Cardine. I am going to make a sweeping generalization: I haven't been in too much trouble in my life, but I'll tell you one thing- the cops I have dealt with probably average a 100IQ (how do you know this? I don't. I'm just guessing based on conversations/interaction I've had with very intelligent people).

Not just that, but I have I have met quite a few cops, and I'll tell you right now (at least around where I live), they are fucking meat-head fucking morons.

What individual who has any sort of substantial intelligence aspires to be a cop? NO ONE. The few cops I went to HS with were the least intelligent individuals I knew.

The sames holds true for many who join the armed forces. What kind of people enlist in the army or the marines . . . people who don't have any other options . . . ( not considering people with college degrees who become officers. but, even then, I'd love to see IQ scores (assuming IQ scores are accurate).

Let's face it,the vast majority of cops have average or below average IQs, and they're desperately trying to establish power that only exists in their own mind.

The people who protect our country are the bottom of the barrel. This is the truth. No doubt countless people will post that I'm a fucking moron and will provide opposing points of view with examples that contradict my argument. There are, of course, exceptions.

I would bet my life, and my life savings, on the fact that police officers, as a whole, have average to below average IQs.

Why do we give these fucking imbeciles power? Why aren't Harvard graduates cops and soldiers? I'll tell you why . . . because being a cop isn't a thinking man's occupation. Period. Why aren't any of you guys cops? Because you're fucking intelligent, that's why.

I remember when I was 16 I got pulled over while I was going to soccer practice. The thing was, I was on a dirt road that ran parallel to a few fields. The cop wasn't even in his car. He was talking to a guy cutting the lawn. He put his fist out, stopped me, and gave me a speeding ticket. I was going 15mph.

I contested the ticket, and just as the magistrate was about to find me not guilty, the cop lied and said I went through a stop sign. The problem? There was no stop sign.

Now, you might say that this simple, inconsequential experience has shaped my opinion of cops, but it hasn't. I'm not that simple.

Disagree with me. I don't care. I'm not going argue with anyone. I'm not going to debate anyone. it doesn't matter. it's inconsequential. arguing with people on this forum is like trying to suck your own dick.

So, you watched some youtube videos of cops being dicks, or you had a bad experience with one perhaps.

And your conclusion is that all (or most) cops are bullies and/or have inferiority complexes? Have you actually done any research on why people become cops, or is youtube your primary source?

For the record, I don't know any cops personally. I'm just trying to point out how ridiculous your logic is.

And as an aside, who would put all the black people in jail if it weren't for cops? Somebody's gotta do it...
