College Conspiracy?

yeah I have, hence the name Loyola in my handle.

.... and complete dumb-asses can fall for statistics, sure. At the same time, statistics + doing your own research can pay dividends. You should try it some time.

I meant no offense.

I was pointing out the irony of the fact that a statistics class at a 4 year school - which the video is obviously slanted against - will teach you that statistics while verifiable and true, don't necessarily mean anything or mean what you think they mean. Basically - correlation doesn't equal causation.

If you took offense that's your problem, douche.

I think they might have forgot to add on inflation to the college costs, it would show that costs are pretty similar. Even if the costs are still above perhaps inflation is high for education right now because of demand. Still, I think conspiracies are usually made up.

I have only watched 8mins into this and its already total bullshit.

The price they give ($27k a year) is for PRIVATE colleges, not every college. Not everyone comes out with this 100k in debt bullshit they are pushing. Not everyone goes to private schools.

I mean who doesn't already know that private colleges are expensive? You pay more because they are supposed to be more prestigious. No one is forcing you to go to a private school, no one forces you to go to a out of state school. A state school tuition for the year is like 3.5k not 27k. This doesn't even take into account grants or scholarships available.

While it lasted I had Florida 'Bright Futures' for having a 3.5GPA out of high school. It paid for 75% of my tuition for a 4 yr degree. I worked a full time job my entire college career, and also got a Pell Grant (2k) each semester for being poor. I went to a community college, and a state school. It took me 6 years to get a 4 year degree, I ended up with 18k in student loan debt for 6 years, which I have already paid off. Almost all of that 18k was for living expensive not college related. Things like rent, insurance, laptops, food, etc.

If you are to stupid to figure out how to pay for college than you should be to stupid to go to college. The problem is not with the colleges it is with the idiots who are to self entitled to WORK though college, and just take loans the whole time, coming out with massive debt. Let them be idiots, let you be the guy that sells them payday loans.

dude you are missing the point.

colleges are getting the money wether its from your pocket or grants and scholarships.

your total tuition was about $15k a year that the college made. even if you only paid 2k out your pocket. so for 4 years the college got its $60k out of you.

just like how a locksmith will come out and unlock your car door for $400 while you are stranded in a walmart parking lot. the car owner doesnt pay a penny the insurance company pays it. But ultimately the locksmith got $400.

so put that up your anus hole moth#r F##er douche face!

This is how people without degrees justify their past decisions.

College is fun, if anything go for the experience. You don't really grow up until you realize your body is only going to go downhill from 25, so might as well have fun learning unless your college is ALREADY getting in the way of your success.

Too many eejits on here talk about "school isn't for ballers"... Okay buddy, when you go from high school to making money to affiliate marketing to something else and realize you have no formal education in anything get back to me.

It's not just about financial success, it's also about expanding your horizons and opportunities.

I've never met anyone hindered because they had a college degree.

I'm also in agreement w/ the specialized degree statement, in terms of economic viability some degrees are just worthless (like communications or liberal arts). I tell people to consider going for mathematics or engineering, to prepare for doctorate or masters, or just go to go. Don't simply go to get a degree and start job hunting unless you KNOW EXACTLY what you want to do.

I'm not using my degree at the moment, but I'm glad I went full scholarship. My degree is in Philosophy... if it matters. I also went because it was more fun than joining the military would of been.

I've met a LOT of people hindered by their degree. The debt + lack of opportunities is literally crippling them.

I'm going to college because whether someone 'needs' a degree or not, having something to fall back on can never hurt. Plus, I can spend time working on affiliate marketing or any other sort of business while I'm in college since I have tons of free time anyways.. Bash on college all you want, but it does offer a certain safety net if you have to return to the 9-5 world for any reason.

I would rather "fall back" on 100k of gold at the rates of 10 years ago, than a piece of paper that gives me the opportunity to fight for a job position that may have 100 other candidates.

When 70% of HS graduates are also getting their degree, a degree is not as special as it used to be.

BTW , anyone in here let me know if you want to trade for my piece of paper earned in 04 for approximately 300k in Gold (after adjusted rates)

Thanks

What amazes me is how many affiliate marketers don't recognize a sales pitch when they hear it.

You can bet your ass that the NIA is funded by those who have investments in gold and silver or even directly sell gold and silver.

Regardless, like all conspiracy flicks there's a lot of truth and facts in it. But of course their reason for the problems and their solution to the problems are always what is questionable.

Public four-year colleges charge, on average, $7,605 per year in tuition and fees for in-state students. The average surcharge for full-time out-of-state students at these institutions is $11,990.
Private nonprofit four-year colleges charge, on average, $27,293 per year in tuition and fees.
Public two-year colleges charge, on average, $2,713 per year in tuition and fees.

(not endorsing the video, just clearing up the false statistics someone who studies statistics is spreading)

Only someone with a leprechaun avatar would sway everyone else from acquiring gold and silver!

YOU GREEDY LEPRECHAUN YOU!

You can't have ME GOLD!

Lol and those are the same cliffs notes for pretty much every conspiracy theory out there.

100k of gold? Thanks to college I make 100k in a couple of months. Obviously there is still a bell curve of smart people with degrees and stupid people with degrees so just because some people can't get jobs doesn't mean they don't exist.

You're making $600k/year with your degree? Do you mind me asking what degree and what type of job you're doing now?
