I don't get what the big deal is calling the cop a pussy. He told her she was being arrested (which is what she wanted), she resisted arrest and kept going back to her car (in which she could have been a bat shit crazy old lady with a gun). He warned her that she was about to be tased, yet she still goes back for her car. Is it that shocking that he tased her?

Sowwy but the law doesn't say "treat old people differently because they're cute and old".

"You have given out too much reputation in the past 24 hours..."

I think you guys have become too desensitized to violence dolled out by your cops. There is no way in the world you can justify tasing a 72 great grandmother unless she was a direct threat i.e. had a weapon. He couldn't have subdued her without using a potentially lethal weapon (to a 72 year old)? What a fucking pussy. Non-compliance, what a joke! It's assault, nothing more, nothing less. What a scum-bag that cop is, I wonder how he would feel if one of his colleagues assaulted his grandmother like that.

He was well within his rights to use his tazer for not listening and he's still a pussy for using it so quickly. I'd understand if she put up more of a fight but he could have handled it differently.

Get back in line citizen. Cops will taze who they want when they want for whatever reason or no reason at all and it will always be doubleplusgood.

For real though the real cowards are the captains and police chiefs who enforce taser use in circumstances like this. You can blame a beat cop for following a retarded protocol but he is under orders with a family to feed.

Taser use in most circumstances like this isn't about the cowardice of the cop. It's about what he's been ordered to do in response to the situation. I know a few cops and they're all brave as shit but they have to do certain things that don't exactly let them show it. If that cop had restrained her physically and his boss found out there is a chance the cop would be reprimanded or disciplined.

If I did what granny did, I would have gotten my ass beat. So why shouldn't she get tased?

Maybe pussy isn't the right word, but coward would be. There's nothing brave about following an unjust order. Bravery is standing up for what you know is right even if there are negative consequences.

The whole reason cops are so quick to pull a taser on someone is because it's "less than lethal" on most healthy people. However, it's very possible she had a pace maker or other heart issues that makes it no longer "less than lethal". At the age of 72 it's resonable to assume she had one of these conditions.

Aren't cops supposed to use as little force as possible? Hence, what might be necessary to subdue a young male is far different than what is necessary on a 72 year old lady.
