Wow. I thought the movie was terrible. I really enjoyed the first remake (would probably give it 8/10), this I'd give a 2 at best.

Bad acting and a plot that put me to sleep. The CGI was the only good thing in the movie but with a horrible plot, it doesn't matter. The humans act completely retarded, and they could have easily played the entire plot out in 15 minutes.

I was really excited to see this movie and it was an unbelievable letdown.

The original was a classic. Did you say you liked Burton's remake? That bombed fella.

The ratings have been pretty decent for Rise of the Planet of the Apes so will give it a chance next week.

Also going to watch Super 8, anyone seen that yet?

I predict failure based on too many 'the's in the title

I thought Burton's remake at least kept the same essence of the classics, which is why I enjoyed it a lot.

You can't beat the classics.

looking forward to super 8 but don't really know the plot. Saw the first trailer and refused to watch any more. I get fed up with trailers revealing too much and spoiling the movie. Can always remember watching Dusk till Dawn and not knowing it was a vampire film, I bet the trailer would have ruined that.

Just another version of Hollywood's money maker niche, "aliens taking over the world".

No thank you.

I really enjoyed Super 8. Lots of suspense and mystery in that one.

Well I'm definitely going to see it now if you liked that Tim Burton/Mark Wahlberg catastrophe. That movie was a steaming pile of shit IMO, and every respectable person I've talked to who's seen the latest one was impressed.

Oh well different strokes for different folks.

Yeah, well like I said I thought the Burton remake captured the essence of the originals better, whereas this one is kind of like it's own movie. Too slow for me. I saw it with a couple people and they didn't like it at all either.

Either way I'm interested to see what you guys think of it.

Just watched the movie and I totally disagree with the OP's review. Actually to think about it the OP must have watched a completely different movie to me.

It had a great plot and was very enjoyable. It's infinitely better than the Burton remake which was total bollocks. This is a proper re-boot (a la dark knight) and am looking forward to the sequel.

I would be very interested to know what recent movies you liked SUP3RNOVA as, as far as Hollywood "big" movies go this was one of the best in quite a while, and I am really not a fan of what has been put out recently, such as Green Lantern (awful movie).

Highly recommended (I mean don't get me wrong it's not in the same league as movies like The Godfather, Scarface etc., but it's got a good plot, great effects/cgi and really really enjoyable).
