Are you a loser?

Most people I know have only been riding a specific train.
(Example: PPC arbitrage on google back in 2006, media buys on niche networks for acai flogs, adwords vouchers, blah)

I see this pattern that people find such things, ride this shit for half a year and then find themselves again without any money source after their bullshit business model collapsed.
eventually few of them in fact get rich very quickly and build such a high self-confidence because of their quick success that they don't even see that they are just lame-asses who were riding some lucky train.
I met such lucky rich guys that seriously believe they are great entrepreneurs and/or prodigies.
Couldn't stop loling about what delusional bullshit they were talking

I bet lots of you guys have been "pimping back in the days with ringtones" and never made any serious buck since then, am I right?

I don't mean to offend anyone, this is just a conclusion that I found interesting.

1) life's all about waves. surf's up brah!
2) new technologies/industries are naturally weighted towards extreme waviness in their infancy.
3) it's always smart to add skills/work hard/diversify/save money/make money

At the end of the day it is not how much money you are earning, it is what you do with the money that is the most important. If you save what you earn or invest it in a business wherein you can double what you are currently earning. Maybe, there are some who are not used of getting huge amount of money in a small span of time and they get overwhelmed. They will keep on spending down to the last cent.

Interesting, everyone in affiliate marketing is a loser.

To be honest I see 3 sterotypes:

1.) lurking blogs, making $5 -- vast majority
2.) made some bucks for 3 months, thinks about ordering a G5, doesn't realize he could as well move back to his mom (the recent farticle boom swept in a lot of this kind)
3.) everything you touch will become gold, really rare

Maybe it's different because I'm a mailer, but I do work off of "methods" where the method is how to beat a spam filter and deliver volume. I'll find a way to get around the filter and hit it till it's dead then use the next method I've been working on while hitting the last one. As filters evolve so do I. Now I have some pretty in depth stuff to beat them (I'm a programmer) and it's gotten to a point where certain isps can't really beat what I've come up with yet.

The PPC guys I know pretty much do the same thing where the filters are the people who approve ads.

If you're thinking in transitional business models you can pretty much forget that with IM. A lot of the same rules apply (finances / legal stuff), but building a bussiness out of 1 way of doings things will pretty much fail every time in this industry, because it evolves to quickly.

tl;dr
adapt or become extinct.

i know what you are talking about, i'm a mailer myself.

to be honest I forgot what the point of this thread was, lol fuck it ;)

EDIT:
oh I remember.. I was wondering if you guys really jump from one thing to another or just stick to the same thing forever.
lots of stuff is changing and lots of you have been in boats that sunk meanwhile, so it's a legit question I thought.
also, I really notice how crazy self-confident certain people get after making some buck, and they are blinded by it lol

when over 50% of the economy is struggling, I don't see any "luck" with anyone at all.

You need to take action in this business to even have a chance. Most people struggling are those who never took a first step.

Guess what? maybe some peeps have some nice "cash flows" they come across, if they never diversify and the well runs dry, then their future success lies if they take action again and can work with their back against the wall. I think we all know our own individual answer to that statement.

I know what it was like to rely on just 1 cash flow and then have it run out. It was called a job.
