It is the reason I rail against a system that allows one man to vote for himself another man's property, or to vote for its use toward goals contrary to what the owner desires (e.g. wars, entitlements, etc.).
A person's ignorance and self-induced stupidity would have a far lesser effect on my life if that person refrained from voting. That person is complicit in every act of state aggression.* Protests of ignorance are irrelevant...
- "I didn't know Bush/Congress was gonna form TSA!"
- "How was I supposed to know Obama/Congress was gonna push mandatory healthcare?!"
- "When I voted for Clinton, I didn't know he was gonna kill Serbs!"
- "How the heck was I supposed to know Reagan was gonna appoint Greenspan to run the Fed?!"
Those who vote are responsible for the state. They can make amends by arguing for its dissolution.
