North Korea is absolutely nuts. Only a handful of outsiders are allowed in.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korea#Tourism

currently fewer than 2,500 U.S. citizens have visited North Korea since 1953.

also :'C''''

North Korea's first Internet café opened in 2002 as a joint venture with South Korean internet company Hoonnet. Ordinary North Koreans do not have access to the global Internet network, but are provided with a nationwide, public use Intranet service called Kwangmyong, which features domestic news, an e-mail service and censored information from foreign websites (mostly scientific).

This reminds of the surreal WCW and New Japan pro wrestling event that was held in North Korea.

Try and imagine what is going through the crowd's mind at around 2:00 :

"What is capitalism? People with a lot of capital want to make a lot of money"

Haha.

Fuck, people are stupid. I'd gladly send that bitch to the concentration camps in NK. She'd get free food at least, when they aren't out of course.

It is sobering to remember that these knuckleheads vote. Many of them are clueless regarding economics. They are also uninformed regarding the machinations of the state. Yet, in their ignorance, they vote.

This post puts it well:

The demonstrators have dozens, if not hundreds, of different concerns they are complaining about. They accurately identify many injustices and major problems with our society, but they fail to connect the dots.

They imagine they can use the state to take money from the richest 1% and deal it out to the bottom 99%, but they don’t see that the state was the primary instrument used to amass the wealth of the top 1% in the first place. They complain about corporations but do not blame the state for their very existence. They grumble about greed but fail to point out the primary lever of power, the state, which exacerbates it. They rail against the merger of state power with corporations, or corporatism, which for some reason they call “capitalism.”

They moan about the wars, but not the state that creates them. They scream about the millions of unemployed but make no mention of the state’s role in driving businesses out of America. They call to “End the Fed,” but do not fault the state for its creation. They moan about the millions of foreclosures but do not refer to the housing bubble — intentionally created by the state. They criticize the cost of education but fail to cite the state financing that drove up the price.

The protestors have not yet realized that all of the problems they are concerned about are symptoms of a deeper cause — the power of the state. Everybody sees that the state has nothing but contempt for “the will of the people.” It is frustratingly futile to try to change the system using the system.
The state is the root cause of the infection. Treating symptoms is akin to pumping a sick person with meds. The solution here is invasive surgery. Without it, the patient will die.

They look so dumbfounded when he said he was from the USSR, people are so god damn dumb.

When did Americans become a bunch of pussy assholes that are afraid to work for what they want?

I laugh at the idea of taxing the rich because I know that the result of this wouldn't be equality. The result would be more endless spending by politicians on shit that no one in this country wants, such as occupations of more countries where brown people fear us the way the Polish & Austrians feared the SS. The gains would be nil and the deficit would continue to rise. I'm baffled by people who argue with me about ending the income tax. They somehow honestly believe that their gains are greater when they forced to hand over 20% of their check, rather than being able to pick and choose services or products they'd like to buy. It's absolutely insanity; the propaganda machine has worked well and the vast majority of people are no longer capable of critical thinking.

Not so much. It is quite thoroughly fascism, with an American spin of course, but definitely fascism.

It is the reason I rail against a system that allows one man to vote for himself another man's property, or to vote for its use toward goals contrary to what the owner desires (e.g. wars, entitlements, etc.).

A person's ignorance and self-induced stupidity would have a far lesser effect on my life if that person refrained from voting. That person is complicit in every act of state aggression.* Protests of ignorance are irrelevant...

- "I didn't know Bush/Congress was gonna form TSA!"

- "How was I supposed to know Obama/Congress was gonna push mandatory healthcare?!"

- "When I voted for Clinton, I didn't know he was gonna kill Serbs!"

- "How the heck was I supposed to know Reagan was gonna appoint Greenspan to run the Fed?!"

Those who vote are responsible for the state. They can make amends by arguing for its dissolution. :)

"You`re an exile. You`re one of the rich people they threw out of the country because you were robbing the people!"

lol, wow. It sure is comforting to think you know everything, isn`t it?

Voting makes zero difference, in all of these scenarios the other candidate would have been just as bad. It's a charade, a big act to make us feel like our choices change the course of the country, but they don't.

If you make it far enough in politics to be a presidential candidate, you are a lying sack of shit, that's the only way to get there.

It's not the voter's fault for voting for the wrong person, it's the voter's fault for being so naive to think that any politician has their best interests in mind.

this is cool, but do you know how much of US money went into building south korea?

It's not really a fair comparison, because the USSR and USA basically played out their proxy wars in here.

the USSR is dead, the USA is still very much alive and continues to support south korea.
