Pacquiao vs. Marquez. Tonite?

Your opinion on the Pac v Floyd fight doesnt mean shit 'cos Mayweather is a pussy who will do anything to NOT fight pacman.

So you know this for a fact expert? You talked to Floyd himself about it? Nah didn't think so.

He could be ducking Manny or he could be itching to fight him, who fucking knows. All I'm saying is that in my opinion. I think Floyd will outbox the shit out of Manny if they were to scrap.

I personally don't give a shit who would win in a fight against Mayweather and Pacman. Sure, it'll settle who's better than the other, but if you look at the stats up to this point and time, Pacman has a much more impressive career if you look at his matchups, his wins in 8 different weight classes, the fact that he's 2 years younger and has fought 17 more professional matches.

Mayweather has that untarnished "0" in his loss column, but that still doesn't negate the fact that Pacman has simply done more and achieved more in the sport imo.

Well let's look at their common opponents.

For Hatton, Floyd knocked him out when Hatton was 43-0. Then of course Manny got his sloppy seconds and knocked him silly.

Same with De La Hoya, Floyd beat DLH closer to his prime and natural weight of 150lbs. Manny fought a washed up drained shell of a fighter in De La Hoya at 142lbs. A weight Oscar hadn't been since 1997 or 11 years before the fight, again taking Floyds sloppy seconds.

And again with Mosley. Before the Mayweather fight everybody was saying Mosley will be a tough fight after he smashed Margarito. Mayweather beats him easily, and suddenly overnight Mosley is over the hill. Pacquiao again takes sloppy seconds, beats him up, and he's the hero of the world.

And Marquez. Manny arguably should have lost at least one of their 3 fights, and has gone hell and back, 36 rounds with Marquez. When Floyd fought Marquez, he makes him look silly.

I think Manny's best wins are Cotto and Margarito of his "modern" welterweight career, and Floyd's best wins were when he was a featherweight/lightweight and lighting shit up. I think they're careers are pretty even, and they will both go down as greats. That's why a fight between them needs to happen.

And for Pacquiao seeming "off" he did a little I think, but he's had trouble with Marquez 2 times before. Styles make fights and Marquez's style is a bad one for Manny. A very tidy counter puncher with good footwork.

How are you gonna assume that since Marquez gave Pacquiao trouble that Mayweather will put him to bed?

Just like you said, it's fighting styles. Marquez had the right style to pin Pacquiao down. Doesn't mean Mayweather does. Manny has problems with counterpunching, not Mayweather's defensive style as far as I know.

Are you fucking kidding me?

Floyd Mayweather is the best defensive boxer and has a counter punching style aswell.. Similar to Marquez he just adds defense. Pacquiao is the offensive fighter and got bitched in 12 rounds. While mayweather the DEFENSIVE fighter ended it at round 8. I always thought pacquiao progressed to be on the same ring with mayweather but after the marquez fight nowhere close standing up there at the top with mayweather.

He got bitched over 12 rounds?

Look up the stats bro.

LOOOOLLLLLL. Made perfect sense at the beginning with the host pointing at the fact that he has ducked pacman under the guise that he believe's he's using roids (or any other illegal performance enhancing substances), and Mayweather denies it.

Why else require a drug test?

Like the host said, he actually has him picked to beat pacman in a fight, but the point he's making is Mayweather is afraid of losing that '0', which is an indicator of his character.

I dont need stats i saw the fight. Manny KNEW he lost he went to the corner and cried while marquez was cheering. MANNY LOST THAT FIGHT. Hate when people bring up compubox scores that doesent mean shit.

also there have been many times where bob arum bullshits that he did negotiations for the fight.

This fight pacquiao just went throught shouldve happened 3 Years ago LAST TIME when the judges also fucked over marquez. This one was more clearer than last time.

edit- You just gave me an article saying that Marquez was truly robbed from the judges error.

wow.

Floyd > JMM in counter-punching, in fact Floyd is actually the quintessential counter-puncher. Probably the best there is today and one of the best ever. As he can balance himself from defense to attack almost instantly.

How else would a defensive fighter win fights? They sure as hell don't win by blocking and dodging a whole lot. They do so by popping you when you fuck up and overshoot or telegraph your punch.

As for the style, the main flaw I see in Floyd is that has had trouble with southpaws historically because of his shell style defense which is designed for fighting other Orthodox fighters.

He looked fine against a very offensive southpaw fighter in Victor Ortiz and basically shut him out. By the looks of it, he seems to be refining his defensive game for southpaws in case he ever meets Pacquiao. There's a possibility for that dynamite left hand of Pac to touch Mayweather down the middle, but righty's can also send their crosses down the middle at will. Like May did to Ortiz all night.

Pacquiao's angles and movement could also be weird for Floyd, as moves side to side fucking quickly and shoots punches from weird angles.

As for the Manny/Juan fight again. Manny only threw 578 when he usually throws 900 to 1000 punches. He will probably get a lot more punches off on Floyd, but he will eat many right hands in the process.

Again that's why they need to fight. To answer all these questions.

wow.

lol you don't need hard facts because you got feelings bro?

Manny Pacquiao is put on a pedestal. It fucks with how you see him. The moment you see him not utterly dominate the opposition, that means he lost and he sucks.

Boxing is about the offense, and Manny just managed to get more in.

Granted JMM's hits were really good, but I don't think I saw him go on the offense more than twice. Everything was counterpunching, even his combos were counters.

If winning means waiting three minutes for the opposition to throw a punch so you can hit back, I'd rather watch paint dry.

My dude, was this the first time you watched pacman fight? :p

Before the fight he did the same thing. He prayed like he always does.

You sir are an idiot. Jinki pacquiao cried and everyone even the commentators thought marquez won. Pacquiao usually doesent go into the corner AFTER the fight, he does before. Usually hes celebrating at the end of the fight. Freddie Roach told Pacquiao to go for the knockout at the 12th cause he knew manny lost.

Are you fucking stupid? yes or no? Did you watch the fight? How could you say manny was more offensive. He was more aggressive doesent mean he was more offensive. Marquez got him with much more cleaner shots. He gave manny the ill beating throughout the fight. Marquez slowed throughout the end cause he knew all he had to do is just get through the rounds. and one thing that was obvious is that marquez did win more rounds which was a clear fact. stop fucking sucking up to manny pacquiao hes not the perfect boxer. He fucking ducked marquez for 3 years for the exact reason of what happened sunday. Truly biggest robbery. The judges gave pac the win cause they didnt wanna jeapordize a 300-400 mil fight with pretty boy floyd who know we know is the obvious pound for pound champion. 42-0 without a doubt. The article YOU sent me said exactly what I'm saying. that marquez was robbed.

What's up with the name calling buddy?

I've been following pacman for a very long time. He does it in EVERY fight. This is a FACT. Jinki didn't cry. I saw her face. If anything, she was probably worried. Also, the commentators were on pacman's side. If you heard, they were sucking his dick throughout the whole fight, lol. These guys are the same dudes who said the same thing throughout pacman's previous fights. Any pacman fan would know this.

This fight was very disappointing though. This could've gone either way IMO. I'd admit that Marquez does pose a threat to manny. I still want a rematch though.

Which commentators were you listening to? Harold Lederman had pacman ahead and Jim + Emmanuel seemed to slightly favor pacquiao as I recall. Then again, I was drunk.

They were definitely bias towards pacman like they always have from his previous fights.

And for the record, they are anti-mayweather.

Sorry for the name calling but I follow not only pacquiaos fight but boxing in general. you cannot possibly be defending that pacquiao shouldve won that fight. Pacquiao had teary eyes and roach knew he lost. Jinki was crying you need to watch the fight again bro. The commentators were biased torwards pacquiao cause they expected a lot from him BUT they all were like wtf when pacquiao won. They all said huge upset from pacquiao and phenominal performance by marquez. Even amir khans pacquiaos training buddy said marquez won by 2 rounds. And we all knew who really won it was imminent from the crowds reaction. Beer bottles were thrown at pac. This sunday a robbery was commited.

Wow, just wow. Defense is just as important. No point being able to crack hard when you're susceptible to getting put to sleep. Fighting smart should count for something. Which is what Marquez did Saturday night. He had the perfect game plan and at 38 years old pulled off one of the most disciplined fights of his career. The fight was close, but obviously I had Marquez winning by making Manny fight his fight and landing the more significant blows.

Compubox numbers are irrelevant. Marquez hit with more ferocity and made sure every shot hurt. Manny may have landed more but he didn't even have Marquez hurt even once. Even Katsidis managed to drop Marquez, and that fight was at lightweight.

And just like I said before. Manny usually throws 900-1000 punches. He threw under 600 this fight because of Marquez's superior footwork and Marquez made it it hard to hit him because he was constantly moving his body clockwise, away from Manny's devastating left.

What did you expect Marquez to do? Stand and trade with Manny and hope for the best?

And if you don't want to see defensive and strategic boxing, fuck off, go watch some MMA highlights or some shit. (I love MMA)

Boxing is chess not checkers. Last time I'll chime in on this topic, no point arguing with people who only watch fights when Manny Pacquiao is on and have no idea about the subtleties going on in a boxing match.

From a technical perspective defense is just as important. But not from a scoring perspective. That's how Pacquiao "won".

It shouldn't have been a win. Marquez' game plan was perfect and Pacquiao failed to gain any traction until the final 3-4 rounds. But every sport favors offense over defense when it comes to scoring and boxing is no different.
