They're pretty terrible TBH. They were formerly infolink, a failed theplanet reseller. They have a reputation of not delivering your server for over a week after you buy it, yet they start charging you from the moment you put the order in. Then often times the specs you ordered aren't what you get and their support is extremely bad and usually non-responsive for days to weeks after you put a ticket in.
They're cheap but I wouldn't host anything valuable on it.
I have a "baby plan" with hostgator (because that's what the guide I read told me to get) and it seems pretty nice to me. I've never had any problems with downtime or anything, and the cpanel interface is simple. Installing Wordpress/etc is super easy... I dunno, I've never used anything besides hostgator so I don't know how it compares, but it seems nice to me, at least for my meager needs.
Server pronto is ran by a bunch of fraudsters, so unless you like being extorted and charged for services you never ordered and then not being able to cancel go for it. I had to get my card canceled in the end.
hard to cancel. but cheap. they cut me off, albeit briefly, for some interesting traffic coming from an IP on my dedicated. but at 150 a month for a monster server can't beat it. but i'm still going to cancel.
any recommendations ?
so far am looking and comparing between
1&1
Firehost - security
hostgator
rackspace
In several years I never had any charges for services I have never ordered. As for cancelling, they bill quarterly and afaik just need to cancel a couple of months in advance.
is anyone using server pronto , i just wanted some feedback on that before i start moving my shit, their prices are amazing
since liquidweb is pissing me off so effing bad i can stand being with them another month , so any thought would be +1
