I need to move about $50k into something that can earn something more than a shitty money market account %, but I don't want it to be tied up for years where I can't access it if necessary.

Any suggestions for something relatively safe, but that pay's more than a $100 a year on $50k? Not looking for anything kinky or overseas type of shit.

1.) what percentage do you want to earn?

2.) how much risk/effort do you want to put in?

low risk and about 10-20% return a year look into transactional funding.

Seriously, with a business partner waiting outside in the car. The right acquisitions could net you 100% to, I don't know... 500% ROI. It's all about time and place.

A gold gun is not a bad investment idea. Listen to Kingfish.

Check tradeking, optionshouse and optionsxpress all have good accounts where you can dump money and pull out quick if you need to. A few funds are performing really well right now. Gained about three grand in the last month.

Other than that you can do cash lending but it seems you want to just hold the money somewhere. Safety is only relative to your knowledge and willingness to defend. Depending on where you are you could do a laundry mat, dry cleaners or a janitorial service. Low start up costs and relatively easy to flip.

If you do not need that much return break the 50k apart until you figure what method works best for you. Could dump 15k or so into ecommerce and hold the rest. You would have the 15k back by summer, plus additional cash coming in.

Just throwing out some ideas to you. Hope it works out. When you find something, please post back. Generally open to more opportunities to make some additional income.

If you own an adsense account, invest into me. I give 10% ROI/ around1.5 month guaranteed.

If adsense is banned, I return your money plus add 10%. If adsense is not banned, you got your money, and I keep the difference between the cost of filling your adsense account and the one you actually have.

There are terms like you need to cash adsense payment within 4 days of payment day or I presume you have cashed it. That sort of thing. If you use direct deposits it'll be deposited at the same time.

Start with $100 first. I've been doing this for years. While adsense sometimes ban, the probability is low enough for me to make this guarantee. I got tons of cash to back things up in case things really went south, but chance is you got your return and I got my profit. There's always risk.

Then connect me to more CPA and do same the same thing. CPA is even better actually. I know some are if I know you well enough :D. Again, I fill your CPA account and earn profit from the difference.

The money is in the relationship. And 10% per 1-2 months in internet marketing world is not a very impressive return. We simply have way better alpha than investor that just put money and sleep. I am just repackaging it so you can more easily compare that with bonds, for example.

OP, listen to me.

Go and open an ameritrade account or something at some brokerage and deposit all 50 grand.

Start day/swing trading.

dont research anything, thats for faygets.

scared money dont make money

Why lending club vs. prosper. I've been researching that....thinking of taking a small plunge into p2p loans.

I've been investing in prosper for about 5 years now and it has become 100x better in the last 2 years for one reason: market place - which allows you to sell your current notes.

Before the market place when you invested in a loan you were stuck for 3 years(unless the borrower prepaid).

Now with the market place you are able to list your loans for sale to the highest bidder. I generally invest a few $k every 6 months. Collect 3 months worth of payments and list them all for sale until they're gone.

I know it seems counterproductive to list and sell list and sell but that's the kind of person I am - I don't like sitting still. PLUS if you need to liquidate everything, you can generally get all your cash back within 2 weeks.

For best results invest in shorter (1 or 3 year) loans, small amounts ($25-$50) and higher/riskier rates(20%+). These seem to be the easiest loans to unload in the market place as most other investors shy away from 5 year/low yield notes.

I think that covered most of my prosper activity. :smilie_weihnfenster
