LESSON LEARNED. Have all your shit on lockdown. None of my apple devices had tracking apps installed. My external sits right next to my macbook and didn't have a password. Another flash drive wasn't protected either.
Stupid shit, but definitely a valuable lesson. I contacted textplus+ so hopefully they'll be willing to work with me. I traced some other information back to the website bangbook.com so if anyone happens to know a webmaster there please PM me.

Hope you have Carbonite or something, if not go get it ASAP. I have an external next to my Macbook but if my house gets robbed or burns down I have my shit backed up off site.
You should also set up some streaming surveillance shit at your place, it's not expensive. Have the cameras turn on when motion is detected and basically upload video/still frames to a server so nothing is kept on site.
Unless they still have the property in their house, which'd be pretty strong evidence. I know there's warrants and stuff, but if OP finds out the guy's address, I believe they can enter a house if it's in response to a 911 call. (at least, that's the case over here)

If you do escalate 10x style, know the CA gun laws. They're not exactly on your side unless you're on your property and your life is in grave and imminent danger and they have capability AND intent. And you better the fuck kill them dead in the front and lawyer up. I know of a great expert witness if you need one.
Edit: It should probably go without saying that if you're doing some sort of "entrapment", then you are most likely going to end up in prison in this F'd up state.
I personally like the solutions involving internet geekery + cops.

Even then make sure some time passes between the event that triggers your will to commit revenge and the time you commit it. This will not only help you not be connected to the revenge act, since you will be depriving investigators of motive (hard to piece together a motive that happened years ago) but will also ensure you only engage in a vengeance you truly believe is worthwhile.
You never know who you are dealing with. As someone said, this might be someone with two strikes and willing to do anything to make sure they don't go back.
Tracking him down isn't the problem, it is what you will do once you find him. And then what he will do once found.

They stole all of my spare car keys and they know where we all work. They are going to come back for the cars. I have donated ipods and a donated macbook as well that I'm going to place in the cars and use as bait.
I need your help though in finding the best tracking solution. I need to do some more digging, but it seems like a lot of these apps are either really shitty and easy to turn off, or they just plain don't work.

If you are trying to bait your car the least you can do is get one of the car gps tracking devices that reports where the car is. They sell them all over the place now so parents can spy on their kids and where they go.
First off your electronics are gone. If you have serial numbers for them then you have a very slim chance. Pawn shops do check the listings of stolen articles and will report attempts to the local cops.
Now about your jewelry... If there are any diamonds in the group purchased in the last few years you may be in luck. Recently diamond dealers have added microscopic serail numbers to premium diamonds. If you have lost the paper work just go back to the store and they will help you.
Those serials are not visible to the naked eye but can be seen with a loupe. That may be your best hope for catching these people.
