Why The Future Is Better Than You Think

He brought up some great points. And you can't watch this video without realizing how thinking like an entrepreneur, having marketing and programming skills is insanely valuable in today's rapidly changing world.

The future is very promising as long as we are willing to embrace the changes.

He's saying the exact same fucking thing I've been talking about since the world's economy started going down the shitter. Whenever someone says stuff like "the world is on a downward spiral" or starts talking about how good things used to be, I ask him/her one simple question:

If you had a time machine at your disposal, would you choose to live in the past?

You know... shitty or no technology, a lower life expectancy and so on?

I know I wouldn't.

the only thing that will stop this are greedy fu@@@ing oil companies that want us to keep on powering our houses etc with fossil fuel. i do hope the future is brighter and that fat cats ceo fu@k off.

That we're even aware that's the problem is evidence that the future is bright.

Dood is right, no government can even slow down technology. If not here somewhere else.

DC so fucked

Thanks for sharing.

This is more like a high tech look at what is being worked on.
He is missing a lot of the really great stuff.

He is also missing all the high tech weapons, when your on the end of an attack from this stuff you dont say the world is getting better.. well getting better at killing someone.

He is also leaving out the most important issue, the fundamental point.

The nature of man. Anyone notice how many were murdered and how much hell was unleashed during 1900 till 2000?

If you have money.. theres a lot of great stuff you can buy to make your life and your family etc.. better off.. but if your poor.. not so much...

Wmd's will be used in the future in war, terror attacks etc... the weapons are getting more powerful.. but the nature of man remains the same...

You can go to mars.. but the darkness of man will follow.

guerilla is one of the best posters on wf.. without him it wouldnt be so great.. but im not sure i agree here...

Also did you see the Classic star trek in back? its made from playmates toys in the 1990's i think..

Ok, if you think the world isn't getting better, answer the question I posted in this thread:

If you had a time machine at your disposal, would you choose to live in the past?

... if so, which time period and why?

Im not sure you understand what im saying.. high tech is getting more powerful yes.

But take a look at the years 1900 to 2000 notice anything? Its a bloodbath of murder and destruction.

... alright, a bloodbath of murder and destruction. Got it.

Now please answer my question:

If you had a time machine at your disposal, would you choose to live in the past?

In other words, would you choose to live in the past if someone gave you the once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity to do that and say goodbye to the bloodbath of murder and destruction that is the 1900-2000 time period?

Look at my first post. The fundamental nature of man. I choose 1900 to 2000 because most people know a least some of what happened here.

It wouldnt matter what time you went back to, the nature of man has stayed the same.

So when you say the world is getting better.. the high tech is getting more powerful yes.

In fact i think one day a smartphone will be so powerful, that it would have more computer power then all the computers on the face of the earth today. Think Biochips.

But in the world we live in, the nature of man is the same.. the weapons getting more and more powerful.. one day using them in large scale...

We would at some point have the ability to kill everyone and everything on the face of the globe.. some say we have that now..

However.. in a world war.. the world could turn out much more wmd type weapons in numbers we cant even think of...

p.s. Nice work on the 114 positive feedback at 100%.

Nature of man is sort of a shallow argument I come up against all the time.

I am a man, and I don't have a violent nature.

It's generally better to stick to specifics rather than make blanket statements if possible, just because there are often exceptions which disprove the rule.

I dont mean just violence in nature of man. But im sure you can see my point at least?
I do understand yours.

I do see your point, but I believe you're wrong. There is no fixed fundamental nature of man.

Man is highly adaptable which is why we're the dominant species on this planet. No species is as adaptable as we are, both to circumstance and to opportunity.
