I've been practicing "lean startup" methodology for the past 5 years. There is nothing novel there. He was just smart enough to wrap it up and slap a name on it.

He goes around as if he is the guru when it comes to startups and being a serial-entrepreneur. This cat only has 1 successful business.

I think it's a great mindset to approaching new ideas, what issues do you have with it?

no, he's smart enough to attach himself to steve blank, the guy who came up with most of this shit (at least he was one of the first to concisely describe what a lean startup really is).

Ries is a smart dude, but his latest book is shit. Blank is the guy you need to read.

I'll never understand hating on someone's success or popularity.

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs only had one successful business as well.

Most books and ideas aren't novel. Most have been done or thought of before. It's all in the marketing and what you get out of it.

Seth Godin and Gary Vaynerchuk essentially just rehash old ideas, but they present it in a way that resonates with a lot of people.

If the book is able to light a fire under someone and get them to reach a new level that they haven't been able to reach before, the book is doing it's job.

This.
