Well if he didn't do what he does then there would be no difference in the number of children victimized. In fact you could argue that by doing what he is doing it could actually save some kids by scaring the perverts. Probably unlikely but what he does is unlikely to put more children at risk.

He has identified pedophiles, but rather than turning them in to the police, he profits from it. The pedophiles are then allowed to continue their predatory behavior. He is partially responsible for any child that falls victim to one of them after he has identified them and not turned them in.

He's trying to justify it by saying that he is doing the world a favor, but he isn't. He's doing himself a favor and additional children will probably suffer. A real pedo is not going to be scared straight by paying a couple hundred bucks, if anything they will be encouraged to better cover their tracks, making it harder for real police (you know, the ones that are actually trying to save the kids and not make a few bucks off of them) to do their job and get those fucks off the street.

edit: I just read and see he's pretending to be a 15 year old girl, which would mean these guys are not pedos, but it's still fucked up.
