New York to Ban Large Sugary Drinks

I'm 6'2, 155lbs and drink a full 2 liters of Mt Dew every day.

It's not making me obese; outside of that one vise, I eat 5 times more healthy than the average america - even without trying.

Stupid idea. The public should be made aware of the dangerous things in their food so that they can make their own choices (no one can possibly know what kind of shit is in their food without a little help unless they grow every damn item).

just because you aren't gaining weight, doesn't mean that shit isn't killing the fuck out of you

Exactly. I'm perfectly aware unlike most people, but this bullshit law is targeting OBESITY, which is idiotic. Inform and walk away - that is the end of the government's responsibility.

Yeah cakes, because the government clearly give a huge shit about it's precious citizens. Which explains why cigarettes and booze are perfectly fine and there is not a problem in the world for an 18 year old kid to go to Iraq and get their fucking legs blown off so we can spread freedom.

Next it will be Salt.

Then Sex.

Then we'll have to use the 4 seashells to use the bathroom with.

MDK!

I agree that this is stupid. Not going to solve the problem by banning things. They need alternatives for people to choose.

They should encourage people and businesses to open up farmer's markets and healthy alternatives in the city. They should raise awareness of the topic with an ad-campaign against this kind of fattening shit. They need to start teaching kids from the 1st grade level what real food is and how to be healthy little shits.

There was this documentary called Weight of the Nation on HBO recently that looks at some of the practices that junk food companies commit in cities. I think it was Philadelphia... but in the ghetto the only thing you can buy in most corner stores is processed junk. They sell it cheaper there and make their profits in the richer white neighborhoods. There's no healthy alternative especially when the they make buying the bad shit so easy.

Anyway - there are a number of things to blame for our fatness epidemic. Solving it requires a multi-pronged approach ( education, awareness, encouraging alternatives, less subsidizing of our corn crops, etc )

Banning shit is not going to solve the problem. It's just going to anger the retard Conservatives who think the next thing they'll ban is guns and fornication

Did you forget self responsibility?

No, no... the US government is busy shutting all those down. Small farms can't grow and sell their own food anymore. A team of fully armed FDA agents will raid your farm if you try that.
