Finally, a thread that lives up to the name of Shooting the Shit! Last month I fasted for 8 days and flushed my colon twice daily at health spa in Koh Samui, called the Spa.

Here's the place:

The Spa Resort - Koh Samui

I read about the place back in 2000 or so in an article in Stuff Magazine. This was my second visit. I went there for 3 reasons:

1. To get the health benefits of fasting
2. To get my colon flushed
3. To catch up on some client work

Most people are literally full of shit. Years of eating meat, flour, and processed foods results in large amounts of crap stuck in your colon.

The normal fasting length is 7 days but you can go for as long as you want. Here's the daily routine:

Wake up at 7 am for a morning drink. The drink consists of fruit juice (pineapple or lemon), psillium, and water. The drink fills up your stomach, so you don't get hungry. You then take one of these drinks every 3 hours up to 7pm.

At 8:30am you take your herbal pills. These pills help loosen the crap in your colon. You then taken the pills every 3 hours up to 8:30pm.

Twice a day you flush your colon. Each faster gets their own bucket. Twice a day the workers will fill it with 2 cups of coffee and some cider vinegar. You take the bucket to your room and fill it up with warm water. About 4 gallons of water.

You hang the bucket from a hook in the ceiling. It's right over your toilet. There's surgical tubing that comes out of the bucket which goes through a hole in your colema board and connects to a tip. You lube your butt up, much like when paying your taxes, lie on the board and insert the tip into your butt.

Then you release a clip on the tubing and the water/coffee mixture slowly drips into your butt. Your colon will fill with the solution and then you expel it into the poop shoot at the end of the colema board. (I'll post a pic of the setup later. Don't worry. I won't be lying on it.)

You do this for about 20-30 minutes. Every time you expel the coffee solution, crap comes out with it. The crap comes in different forms. Some of it looks like Jurassic crap. Other times it looks like fiber-like crap.

You do this routine twice a day. Now here's the interesting part. During the whole time, you don't eat any food. All you consume are the drinks and vegetable broth twice daily. However, every time you flush crap comes out!

To be continued...

Part 2

Over the course of the 8 days, I lost 13 pounds. Some of that is fat. Some of it is shit. I think the average person has 5 to 10 pounds of crap in their colon. According to the spa, it will usually take 2 or more weeks of fasting/flushing to entirely flush out your colon.

Here's the weight loss breakdown:

Day 1: Lost 4 pounds
Day 2: Lost 2 pounds
Day 3: Lost 1 pound
Day 4: Lost zero pounds
Day 5: Lost 2 pounds
Day 6: Lost 1 pound
Day 7: Lost 1 pound
Day 8: Lost 2 pounds

During the 8 days I never felt hungry. You also don't feel weak. You have regular energy. However, you aren't supposed to do anything rigorous.

After a couple days of fasting, your organs start expelling toxins. Some people experience pains in different parts of their body as their body detoxifies. I didn't feel any pain.

During the fast, my mind became very clear and seemed sharper. Here's a six-part series by Mark Sisson on the benefits of fasting:

Part 3:

If you have type 2 diabetes, fasting might be helpful:

And the end of the process, I felt lighter and better. Plus, now I can say with conviction that everyone I know is full of shit!

As an aside, I think some rejiggering of appropriate body weight is necessary. Perhaps two columns. One for a person full of shit. Another for one partially full of shit. :)

If you have any questions, ask away!

I have been planning to do this, how do you feel after theseven days?

EDIT: I jumped the gun

I found this, is it yours?

All this fasting reminds me of this
... I did my first-ever coffee enema today. As I walked into the bathroom with a full pot of organic coffee, my 8-year old daughter questioned how I was going to drink all that. All I said was, “Oh, this isn’t for drinking,” and I closed the door.

It's good to see that someone is taking this seriously. The only downside of the routine is that it's a bit boring. But the spa does have wi-fi, so you can get some work done.

Twice during my fast, I felt a little nauseous. They say it's due to bile spilling out into your stomach. You just vomit it out and the nausea goes away.

Since I've returned, my mind feels much sharper. It's something that everyone should try or at least consider.

Another thing. The first time I did this, I met a Japanese guy. He was fasting for 2 weeks. He said he drank and smoked a lot. He was in continuous pain due to all of detoxing. He had pains that move throughout his body. He did say that he was flushing crap out every day.

The medical establishment has been against it for a while, like all alternative medicine. Nothing new. The spa has been around for 20 years. They started with one location and now have 3. Most of the business is referral. Lots of Europeans go there. When I was there, most of the people were from the UK.

Lots of attractive women in their 20's go there, too. I visited at the start of the low season, so it was almost dead. However, on my last day about a dozen attractive women in their 20's arrived. They offer yoga and meditation, too.
