Microsoft's New Tablet

I was about to get a 10.1in Android tablet soon. Glad I waited. I don't expect to do any real work on it, but for serious entertainment, it should be pretty good. I'm expecting the Intel version to be around ~$800-1000 and the ARM to be $400-500. We'll see how it goes. If they bundle the Intel version with an Xbox and a printer for a school bundle I could see it selling extremely well.

Was looking at some schools websites recently and a lot of them have specific notices telling people not to buy an iPad to do school work on. Quite interesting, didn't really think they would need to be so explicit, but it makes sense now.
 


I got my wife an iPad 'cuz she thought she wanted one. It blows. I'm glad she likes to prop it up in the kitchen to watch YouTube cooking vids because to me it is just annoying, not useful at all.

The Windows 8 setup gives you an option to choose the background color from a list. There is a 3rd party tool out to make it any color or image. Here is a screen shot of my Windows 8 install with the darkest default background option.

I'm looking forward to this layout. This plus rainmeter will be pretty sweet.
 
I don't know, but I think Surface is a really stupid name.

"Ok, I'll bring my iPad" sounds fine.

"Ok, I'll bring my Surface" sounds fucken retarded.

Still looks gay as AIDS. To me, there's just too much shit on the screen I don't care about.
 
How many guys launch tablet? I liked apple ipad after that i dont like to try any new one.But when microsoft is launching then ,it would be interesting one.
 
Clearly the future is in MOAR thinness + MOAR Power. I doubt any of you would argue with that.

I haven't held one of these but the specs netphase gave are thinner than an iPad, and this thing has the apparent computing power of a desktop. Together this is something that makes Apple execs worry at night.

Since even-numbered Windows versions suck ass, just like star trek movies, I'll be looking forward to the day when something thinner and lighter than this is running Windows 9.


...But at the very least, the Form Factor of the ideal product has arrived in this one.
 
If Apple had released an iPad smart cover that also works as a keyboard, I am sure people would not shut up about how innovative and revolutionary it is and how nobody other than Apple comes up with such great design ideas.
