Anyone Drink Almond Milk?

I'm into this Canadian rice milk brand out of Quebec called YÜ. Certified organic, non-GMO, nothing artificial added and tastes really good.

Fucking lactose intolerance. Was yours from since you were little or did you gain it? I was a huge milk fanatic all the way up till I was 17; drank 2 big cups of milk every day of my life. Then one day a switch was flipped and my stomach fucking killed me, took a couple days to figure out wtf was going on.

Can't have any type of protein shake aside from 100% egg protein, not even the "lactose free" protein shakes; guess it's the fillers as well.

Yeah I had a big milkshake when I was 18 and realized that would be the last big milkshake of my life :(

I'm really scared this will happen to me sometime in my life. I drink close to a half gallon of milk a day and there is some lactose intolerance in my family.

Watch your Omega .ratios. Almond milk is very high in Omega-6. Most people eat far too much of that already, and not enough n-3.

Hormone-free premium milk from grass fed cows should be higher in Omega-3, so personally I'd stick with that.

Fuck, I drink almond milk, no dairy. What's the natural food sources for n-3? Salmon, fish oil, etc?

You ever try coconut milk? It isn't sweet, and doesn't really taste like coconut (I don't like the taste of coconut), but is the closest thing to milk I have come across. I used to put almond milk in my coffee, didn't like it so started drinking it black which is really acidic. I found this shit and now I actually prefer the taste of coconut milk over regular coffee cream.

All milk displeases me - as for your inflammation issues you should go to an endocrinologist and maybe a hematologist and get that checked out - I gather you can drink almond milk because you don't have an almond allergy - I do - as well as to soy - which I don't like the taste of in any way, anyway... Rice milk I can probably deal with in a smoothie but not straight - I haven't had cows milk straight since I was 3 and found out where it came from - so not for people. Anyway I would be more concerned about what else is going on and not try to just fix it through your milk sub. Just saying...

I like the Coconut milk personally. Mixes great into shakes and what not.

That shit is loaded with saturated fat. Aside from the negative health effects it might have, your body will want to store that as fat instead of burn it off.

I used to think this a while back, and some stuff I've read has changed my position on sat fat:

The Daily Lipid: A Walk Around the Block At "The Daily Lipid" (And Welcome, Mark Sisson Devotees!)

To put it to the test, a couple of months ago, I stopped using unrefined Canola oil & sunflower oil, and started using animal fat to cook with: beef dripping, goose fat and duck fat.

Aside from making everything taste absolutely amazing, I've lost weight and fat from round my waist.

The thing that got me moving was this was investigating the diets my grandparents ate, which were very high in animal fat (everything fried in lard). Given that they lived to /are alive at 90+, there's a decent chance I have genes suited to that sort of diet.

Fish oil, yep.

Salmon if wild. Farmed is lower, and also full of a hell of a lot of nasties. Avoid.

Grass-fed meat looking good too.

Are you making your own Almond Milk, or buying it at a store. If store-bought, look at it carefully. A lot of the commercial stuff is heavily processed and nutritionally fairly useless. I'm sure that some shops sell pure, low temperature extracted almond-mik, (crushed between the thighs of dusky maidens) or something like that.

Switch to Almond milk about a half a year ago for daily consumption in coffee and cereal. (Although I switched to green juicing and raw fruits for breakfast so I'm not really eating cereal much anymore)

I still can't really just have a glass of almond milk by it's self though, it just tastes weird for that. But I rarely did that before, anyway. So for the occasional "milk and cookies" or, more often, milk and a spoonful of peanut butter, I have to have the organic cow's milk.

Almond is basicly good for your lungs.

Heavy smokers should take almond to help flush out the dirt thats stuck in their system. Any cpa offer for almond?

I tried it a few times and it definitely tastes better than the 1% fat milk that I usually buy.
