My Cab Ride Home

Great first real night out in Barcelona.

Turns out the metro stops running at 2AM. Fun.
Non-English Speaking Cab ride come, few minutes into ride, the music comes on...

"Turn around... bright eyes.
Every now and then I fall apart...
And I need you more tonight, and I need you more than ever..."

The cabbie and I remain silent. Act manly.
-30 seconds in. We tap our foot.
-45 seconds in. We hum.
-60 seconds in. We're both shamelessly singing loudly.
-180 seconds in. cab stops.
Awkwardly pay. Awkwardly get out. We both understand.

... Nothing I can say, A total eclipse of the Heart!

It really wasn't that bad. We were not at the big tourist clubs so cocktails were about 5 Euro each with a hefty pour.

So far I have found Barcelona to be cheaper than the majority of the states.

As for the Estrella, I'm more of a red wine and liquor guy so I've only had one Estrella thus far.

I love Barcelona though the petty crime is rife these days, watch yer wallet and mobile Some fantastic little lounge bars and tapas joints. If you want a good day trip, go up to the fortress above the Olympic grounds. There's a great military museum in there if you dig that sort of thing, and the view over the city and harbour is awesome.
