End The War In Iraq - Here's How!

Let's see if we can get this thread popular enough to be mentioned in the mainstream news media. This is not linkbait of any type either. I really want to see how serious people are about the war in Iraq, and if our government is willing to just listen to some ideas, however silly or radical some of them may be. It doesn't cost anything to listen or read, and since the way it's been going on for the last few years hasn't been working as well as we'd first hoped it would, perhaps they just aren't thinking of good ideas for it.

I want everyone reading this thread to make a serious post with an idea that is 100% neutral from a political and national standpoint. That means, if you're a Republican, Democrat, Liberal, Saudi Arabian, Irish, American, whatever it is, don't use this as a way to praise or denounce any of the politicians, nations or governments involved in the war. Just put down what YOU think would be the quickest and safest way possible to neutralize the threats in Iraq so that the American & Coalition forces can quickly exit Iraq, without leaving it in shambles too. Let's not forget, both on the Iraq and US/Coalition side there have been a ton of losses, so either way, there is no WINNER or LOSER per se, but it needs to end soon, and if we can't come up with a solid solution for the people in charge, then I hate to say it, but it will just continue on and on, and all of those soldiers who thought they were fighting and dying for SOMETHING will be let down only to learn it was for nothing. :(

If you can't come up with any ideas or don't feel like sharing your ideas (ie nuke the whole region) at least spread the word about this thread, and let's see how many people there are in the world that actually have a REAL idea on how to solve this global issue.
 


My radical approach to ending the war in Iraq.

Without trying to write a novel of a post to explain why we went out there and the stories behind it leading up to everything now, let's just skip to the issue at hand. Getting out, with our heads held up high, and our friends in Iraq running a government that won't persecute it's people and reducing their "freedom" to a life of terror, hate, and torture. Saddam is gone. Let's move on and end this thing.

Here's how I would start..

1- I'd leave all of the troops where they are now, and have them continue forging friendships and partnerships with both Sunni and Shiite sects. They are making some (not much) progress with joining forces finally to fight against the insurgency being dictated by Iranian terror factions (ie Hezbollah) and Al-Qaeda.

2- Take guys like this and have him train thousands of new recruits or air force combat experienced soldiers on how to use these RC Helicopters. These things wouldn't be in the shape of a Helicopter, but should more or less be a flying gun with a camera on it.
Do you have any idea how valuable something like this would be, and how tough it would be for the terrorists and insurgents to shoot at and actually hit? Not to mention pretty damn cost effective for us, and the best part... no loss of life on our side. Those RPG's and IED's would become obsolete pretty quickly.

3- This may offend some people, but I feel it's necessary because it would put the extremist militants who hide behind the whole "we're doing it because God told us we can" excuse, that all of the other Muslims say is NOT a good excuse to be carrying out SUICIDE BOMBING MISSIONS on civilians or even soldiers alike all in the name of Allah (God). So... Since these terrorist dickheads seem to think it's okay to go into Mosques and blow up themselves and tons of civilians as well, let's fight religion with religion.

There's only one way to stop a suicide bomber, and that's to kill him or her before he/she detonates the bomb and dies along with their targets. So a better way to go about stopping them, because the first way is nearly impossible to catch all of them and kill them all too, is to do the following:
If you blow yourself up in the name of Allah (which is what 99.9% of these suicide bombers say) then after you're dead, we will collect every piece of your body, but instead of burying it, we'll desecrate it by mixing it with unholy materials, such as PORK and then bury it in an undisclosed area inside pig's skin (not a football).

Going this route pretty much nixes out their whole plan of dying for their religion, being remembered or dubbed as a 'martyr', being rewarded with going to paradise and getting their virgins, and it also means that their whole family is automatically shamed and given the SAME afterlife as their detonated relative because hers/his body has been made impure and desecrated, so therefor they are denied of everything they've been promised. I know this technique works, because the Russians did it to combat Muslim suicide bombers in the 80's in Afghanistan. After they put it into use, guess what... wooosh... no more suicide bomber attacks.

Again, this is a radical practice for something that NEEDS to stop and NEEDS a radical solution. This is not a war on the Islamic religion either, only on the suicide bombers as a deterrent to get them to realize that if they plan on killing themselves or recruiting kids to do it too, they can no longer use religion as a means for it.

4- Americans and our Coalition partners need to be educated on what is going on and why. We need to start to truly support the troops, but not the war. That doesn't mean to make anti-Bush rallies, because you liberals may find that as a cool way to meet other crazy people, but essentially, it gets nothing done for anyone's cause. The news media also needs to stop constantly focusing on what the soldiers are doing or anything that may tip off the insurgents. Come on guys, you don't think the guys in charge of the insurgents watch CNN or Al-Jazeera?!

Listen, I know a lot of people find the crap going on with Paris Hilton just too hard to tear themselves away from, but I can assure you, what is happening in Iraq is not only a lot more interesting but something EVERYONE needs to know about. Not only the bad and terrible stuff, but the good and progress being made.

There are lots of others things I can go into, but they would be kinda bias, so I'll leave them out. But bottom line, the goals are:

1- Stop the suicide bombers who are attacking the Iraqi civilians, US & Coalition troops, foreign contractors, etc. by using religion as an excuse.

2- Minimize all US & Coalition troop casualties by replacing humans with technology modified & hybrid robots/small arms/accurate weapons/cameras. Also giving the enemy very little to shoot at and actually hit, thus neutralizing the problem with weapons and innocent bystanders being hit.

3- Give Iraq's government a chance to prove themselves without insurgents running around killing and intimidating people (the gangs can be considered insurgents too because they bring terror onto the people).

4- Getting the hell out of the region.

If we didn't rely on foreign oil, we'd have absolutely no reason to be in Iraq. The terrorists don't like America because we have had a long history of sticking our noses in there. If there was no oil in the middle east, they'd be a blip on our radar.

Its sad because many years ago the American dream became "own your own car, freedom on the road, etc etc." Car makers lobbied and weaseled their way into our lives and made owning an incredibly inefficient car the way of life. Now we're stuck sucking on the ever shrinking teet of un-renewable oil reserves.

Even if you don't believe in global warning, at least buy into the hype of getting all of our energy powered by something renewable. Going green is expensive because its not mainstream, but as you know free markets will make prices reasonable for all of us.

Anyways, back to ending the war in Iraq. I think we have to get political on this topic. If we didn't elect people into office with strong ties to the oil industry, our lives would be very different where they are today. But we're stuck with what we got.

There really is no good solution to get out of iraq. If we withdrawal 100% then we have fought for nothing and all the lives lost will be in vein. It's gone on too long and if we leave without oil then wow... it could be the biggest waste of resources in history. Ron Paul probably has the best plan: Get out as quickly as possible and bring up our defenses, because we're probably going to get hit back for all the crap we've done. In addition to that, increasing and rebuilding our friendships with other countries that G-Dub destroyed, will at the very least allow us to come up with ideas, plans and resources to start fixing what we left behind.
 
We're spending billions of dollars on the WAR in Iraq. Instead of spending money to DESTROY and CONTAIN use it to REBUILD. Schools, hospitals, sewage systems, libraries, mosques, etc... Imagine what good could come from these same finances if we used them for GOOD instead of merely preventing BAD.
 
I say we just try to blanket the country with women's lib literature and millions of spank mags.


The men will all be chokin' their "little akmed", and the women will take power. And by and large, I gotta believe women are much less interested in waging war with one another.

Dullspace, why do you want the suicide bombers to be even remotely associated with your religion of Islam?

As a Muslim, people outside of the religion would think you wouldn't want these terrorist dick heads to be given a proper Muslim burial, Muslim prayer rites etc. so that they could not be associated with Islam in anyway.

But from the comment you made, it seems to me you think using these killer's own religion against them after death is too harsh a deterrent (placing their remains in pig shit)

Here's my question: why would you want these suicide bomber scum to get any sort of respect or recognition after blowing themselves up for the "religion of peace" when according to all the scholars I have heard on TV, these terrorists actions do not represent Islam.

Why would you be against denying these terrorists proper Muslim burial/ prayer rights when the whole point of the pigs blood and pigs skin is to dis-associate the killers from Islam and what better way then to put their remains in pig blood and skin. It would also kill the motivation of any other suicide bomber to carry out their acts because they would know the fate that awaited their blown up remains.

Let's get some real answers, Dullspace, I'm tired of all political correctness concerning Islam.
 
War is the biggest marketing, money making weapon known to mankind. War will always be a way of life in the world. When used right it produces big dollars.

Money and oil perpetuates war. War perpetuates money and oil.

War is a money machine. Money is needed to fund the war, money is needed to make the weapons and support the troops. That money is borrowed. Then money is needed to rebuild the cities and people that are destroyed by war.

Rinse repeat.

There will always be famine, war and destruction. There is just too much money to be made off of the worlds misery.

War and Greed rules the world not love and peace.

Why don't you support the placing of suicide bombers remains in pig entrails when it has proven an extremely effective strategy at eliminating the # of suicide bombers?

Why don't Muslims get outraged at what people in their own religion are doing, but instead are outraged about Mohamed cartoons.
 
1. Send in a massive force of at the very least 200,000 more troops. If it were up to me, it would be 500,000 if possible. The 30,000 troops that Bush sent in and called it a "surge" is pathetic. More like a "trickle" at most. To quell the violence we need to put Iraq on total lockdown. None of these pansy "surges" with a few troops. Yes it will be very expensive to send in so many more troops, but how much more lives and money is it going to cost in the long run if we never get Iraq under control?

2. With a massive new addition of 200,000 to 500,000 troops, we must put Iraq's border on complete lock down. Prevent weapons and new insurgents from Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Turkey (who have been quarrelling kurdish rebels).

3. With a massive and overwhelming force of troops and contractors, we must implement the "Clear. Hold. Build." strategy introduced by Condoleeza Rice. Which I have to say was unfortunately sidelined by other Bush Admin who thought they knew what they were doing with such a tiny force and trying to build the Iraqi security force at slug speed... The "Clear. Hold. Build" strategy is this: clear areas from insurgent control, to hold them securely, and to build durable, national Iraqi institutions.

4. I find the infrastructure of Iraq to be duly important in vanquishing the insurgency. Since that was mistake #1 in this whole mess. After we went in and destroyed Iraq, we failed to give thousands of Iraqi's jobs to do immediately. Many former Iraqi military members suddenly found themselves with no work and no way to feed their families. Guess who they are going to be angry at? And whaddya know, an insurgency is born...So Iraqi citizens must have shelter, running water, food, electricity and most of all jobs and public projects to occupy them while American and Coalition forces stamp out the insurgency and block weapons and instigators from crossing the Iraq borders.

5. Turn the Iraqi oil contracts over to the people of Iraq. It is their oil, to rebuild their country. It is not for international corporations to come in and steal all the profits leaving Iraq in shambles.


Now, the plan I laid out is a long and hard road, but I guarantee that it would work quicker than the half-hearted efforts of our top leadership. Our troops are amazing as always, but they are seriously needing additional support. Some of them don't even have body armor or armor for their vehicles...

So it buckles down to go in with an even larger (I say massive!) force and put the place on lock down, OR leave that hell hole and learn a big lesson not to go into a foreign country with no plan for counter-insurgency and rebuilding and expect no resistance whatsoever...

Finish big or leave.

I'm a Jew and I'm still not against Islam. I could care less who or which god anyone chooses to pray to or not to pray to.

If you think it's offensive that I brought up desecrating the remains of SUICIDE BOMBERS to get them to stop using the religion excuse to recruit and kill people, then you need to wake up and look around, because your religion is looking pretty damn bad to the rest of the world at the moment. Religious or not, it's your duty as a human being to at least think of a way to stop these crazy fuckers instead of using the more "peaceful" way, because that just isn't working buddy.

The suicide bombers have one goal. Get everyone to become extremists like them. Even if you're already a Muslim, but not religious, then you either need to be forced into it or killed, and then they keep hiding behind the veil of "we are doing it because Allah says so in the Koran". Wrong. It doesn't say shit about killing other Muslims in their mosques just because they are of a different sect. I don't care how liberal or conservative you are, the bottom line is that their agenda dictates clearly that the only way they will stop killing everyone who doesn't join them, is when the entire world is under THEIR view of what Islam is, not Muhammed's and not Allah's, but THEIR view and rules.

Unfortunately there will come a time, hopefully a lot later than sooner too, when all of the shit that happens out in Iraq/Middle East will come here. Hell, it's already happened in places we never thought it would, but as major events such as 9/11, UK/Scotland car bombs, Madrid train bombs, Israel's bus bombs. Can you imagine if it gets to the point where we have to use the same hardcore security and defense tactics as Israel has to go through everyday in civilian life just to make sure someone's bulky coat doesn't have a bomb in it, or have security checkpoints everyyyywhere with ID/paper checks, etc.

So instead of saying "well, we don't want to offend them and make the situation worse", guess what you fools, it will only get worse if you don't do something. So yes, while it may be pretty fucking offensive, at least we know it works, and neutralizes a HUGE threat. When the Russians did it in the 1980's there was a very small uproar about it, but because it was so damn effective people stopped bitching about it.

Listen, if you want to bitch about it and protect these "poor" guys who just happen to want to blow you up for being an American or Christian or Jew or even a Muslim who just disagrees with them, then so be it. Go protect them as a "human shield". But I'd rather offend someone and stop the suicide bombers than not offend someone and let it get worse and worse and worse...

So wake the hell up, stop acting like a fucking idiot, and accept the fact that in order to stop an extremist view and goal, an equally extreme defense tactic needs to be used. If hugging them would help I bet everyone would do it, but it doesn't.

If i 100% believed that I would go to hell if my body was to be placed in pork and the bad guy swore he'd put it there if I suicide bombed someone. Ya. I think I'd do something else.

Want to end the current war in iraq? stop buying oil from them. fuck it. spend the same money you're spending on the war to furnish americans with cheap electric cars, and let's fucking start all over with our transportation system.

let's make nice with china and give them a SHITLOAD of money for the development of these cars and start working out a deal with asia to back our asses up if the arabs decide to come over once we leave.

ya know? asians are fucking cool. and their women are hot.

I've learned the trick to internet forums is figuring out who isn't worth responding to. When you posted something as uneducated and ignorant as you did, I figured you were having a rough day or something and responded. Then when toolohen vehemently defended it, I wrote him off as a crazy person and ignored it. Now, you had to come back and try to warrant your original post and I'm starting to think you really believe it.

If you want to advertise your ignorance on the internet, it's not like I can stop you. But, it reflects clearly on your political, economic, and moral blindness.

I came to this forum thinking I would educate some people about the domain name space and learn about affiliate marketing. I guess today I realized the kind of company that I'm in.
