Jon,

I've learned the trick to internet forums is figuring out who isn't worth responding to. When you posted something as uneducated and ignorant as you did, I figured you were having a rough day or something and responded. Then when toolohen vehemently defended it, I wrote him off as a crazy person and ignored it. Now, you had to come back and try to warrant your original post and I'm starting to think you really believe it.

If you want to advertise your ignorance on the internet, it's not like I can stop you. But, it reflects clearly on your political, economic, and moral blindness.

I came to this forum thinking I would educate some people about the domain name space and learn about affiliate marketing. I guess today I realized the kind of company that I'm in.

Bye all

Okay...so you leave every time you hear someone say something ignorant? You're not going to find company with any large group of people. There is always someone you will be at odds with...

What a pussy.

You're response proved Jihad Watch right today.

Muslims are in a state of collective denial about the people hijacking their "religion of peace" and there's no telling how long this dark cloud will remain.

And I resent being called a crazy person simply for pointing out your hypocracy.

Have fun getting drafted and then thanks for leaving US borders wide open and vulnerable. Meanwhile terrorists = "yay more americans to kill"!

The US borders are wide open and vulnerable...400,000 illegals cross our borders every year and last I checked it only took 19 terrorists with box cutters and flight to degrees to do significant damage. I don't care how much border security you say you have, if a small group like that wants in, they can get in. True defense will have to be communication at every level of citizen, civilians, rent-a-cops, state troopers, and intelligence agencies will need to be able to talk to each other without obstruction, and act quickly when something comes up.

Although I whole heartedly agree, I would rather our troops be here in America, protecting us, than in Iraq. But this thread is about securing Iraq after all.

EDIT: Oh and as a handicapper, I won't be the one drafted. ;)

That's the point... if they can get in so easily with all the security in the states NOW... imagine what they can get away with if a huge percentage of that force were to be overseas. They'd get away with mass murder... literally.

In many ways, the world is a terrible place. I don't know if it's getting more insane by the day or if getting older is opening my eyes. I mean give me a break folks... this isn't a fucking game of Risk. This isn't fucking Sid Meier's Civilization or fucking Starcraft. The entire globe has already been discovered (for the most part) and we're not savages any more. These terrorists are fucking idiotic moron scum sucking pieces of shit but this war we're raging is only adding fuel to their fire, helping them recruit and giving motivation to young kids that are potential, future terrorists.

There has to be a shift in paradigm. There has to be a change in the ideology of this world. Where are the Ghandi's, Mother Teresa's and Martin Luther King Jrs of our time? We desperately need them.

Dude, trust me. I know exactly what you mean. I would fight for diplomacy and peaceful economic solutions to many of the problems we face. However war is absolutely necessary when it comes to destroying the radicals who actually helped carry out the 9/11 attacks. Which were obviously Al-qaeda supported by taliban and tribal extremists who still have support in Southern Afghanistan and Northern Pakistan. Which our administration is amazingly ignoring to go fight their unnecessary war in Iraq, which had nothing to do with 9/11 despite their lies.

We had a lot of world's nations ready to fight with us in Afghanistan, and our incompetent leaders sidetracked us into Iraq and pissed off our allies. Making things much worse since we went in with no legitimate reasons. We had every right to go into Afghanistan, and the world's nations knew this. We had allies, friends, and options. Not anymore, now it's that hell in Iraq, and lots of pissed off allies and muslims.

But I generally agree that violence should be the very last resort. War is not something you go cowboying into with no plans.

It's funny (and not)... in 2000, my first year in college, I got talking politics with a cabby taking me to the airport for winter break. He told me, "You know what's going to happen? George W is going to attack Iraq because of the unfinished business from his father." Couldn't have been more right.

And you're right about Afghanistan and Pakistan border. Unfortunately that's all said and done. We're IN iraq now and it's our FOCUS. And it's a damn shame. This whole country was misled. And the shitty part is, we'll never, ever, ever, ever know exactly what the circumstances, information, reasoning, philosophies and all that good stuff are. It's too far behind the seasons. Too much private, secure info. The stuff we hear is on the surface. We're innocent bystanders and ignorant spectators watching a game with no rules.

I'm telling you... the world is fucked up. But how good does it feel when you let a car squeeze in front of you during traffic or win a basketball at some stupid carnival game and you give it to some random little kid? Happiness/Peace shouldn't be so difficult... I guess we're just blowing up the people that don't understand.

Sorry... this was out of left, right, center field and the bleachers. Anyways, one more rum and coke and Im going to bed. :love-smiley-085:

I only wish the muslims of the west would take a stand against the radicals. I know my religion doesnt roast small children and present them to thier parents...baked alive. If members of my religion conducted themselves in this way I would either take a hard ass vocal stand agaisnt them or just denouce the religion all together.

Im not sure we will ever be able to fight a war again the way we need to fight it. Our media and the extreme left do everything they can to sway public opinion on any action we take. If we had 24 hours cable news in world war 2 we would probably be speaking either German or Janpanese right now.

make Mexicans fight for 5 years in Iraq and they can earn a US green card!

This solves 2 problems

illegal immigration and war in Iraq

Far left. Far right. Too much bullshit. Pigeonhole yourself to a category to the point where you're rooting for "Democrats" or "Republicans" like it's the Yankees and RedSox... even when you don't like the players on your team or your team absolutely sucks but you blindly believe they'll win anyways.

What happened to logic and decency? I'm "republican" on some issues and "democrat" on others. But to me... that's what you call a "real person" and not a "political puppet". Fuck politics.

Motherfucking truth right there. Vote for what's right, what will protect our constitutional rights and benefit all Americans. Fuck partisan bullshit.

I am middle of the road when it comes to my politics. I believe that if you follow down the party line on each and every issue that you are more of a sheep than an actual participant in the electoral process. I was for the war when we first went because I could not truly believe that an American president would intentionally lie and do the country this much harm. It is still out the window wether he intentionally lied or not but if he didn't then his people fed him the worst intel ever.

We can not occupy Iraq or have a bigger surge with 500,000 more troops. I am not in the military myself but I lived on military bases twenty years of my life and you have to remember or soldiers are not infinite and they are also human. Morale in the military would be at an all time low if we had to occupy the country. Our military these days are trained as a strike force and not nation building. Donald Rumsfeld was a big believer in using a smaller, more mobile, more technology reliant style of fighting. For the past decade that is how our forces have been training. Nation occupying takes a whole different style of warfare. also if we occupy iraq with a huge force in the middle east countries that are friendly will soon not be. No country even our allies want a permanent US occupation in the middle east. They already consider Israel a US outpost.

For the surge to work we have the amount of troops that we need there already. When people say that we are losing the war they don't mean that we are losing in street combat. If it just came down to battles we will win every time. the problem is us leaving an area and the insurgents coming back. Unless Iraq becomes a 51st state there is no way to stop this from happening. The Iraqi people are the only ones that can stop this. they are too busy having a civil war to care.

It is unfortunate but we just have to leave Iraq as we did Vietnam. The only people that are truly showing that they appreciate our presence are the kurds. We should do what we can to protect them from the chaos that will ensue in Iraq. And believe there will be a ton of blood shed when we leave. The war on terror is real. Afghanistan was a just cause. And there are others out there that are as well. Iraq was just a huge mistake and its time we admit it.

1. Vote Ron Paul and educate 10 people you know about him and make sure they can vote. Dont tell them they have to vote for him but "Damn it vote for someone."

2. That pork thing was done. It worked in a small fashion but the people doing it was not us hated Americans. I dont remember who but they were less hated. We do it and its fucking WWIII.

3. We cant win this war. This country is a fucked up, stupidly created by British imperialism 3 headed monster. It need to be broken up unless you have the stomach for another dictator like Saddam to run it. It seems we dont and I dont think people want a USA puppet in Iraq or Afghanistan.

4. Its much cheaper to buy the dam oil than this war. I dont know what the hell the government is thinking, they are a bunch of fools.

5. People are not the same and dont like being controlled. Its hard enough to get a whole country like the USA or Canada to think the same and act the same. Remember Quebec wanting to secede? Remember Vermont and other states threatening to do it if we stay in this war. One World Order? Bull Fucking Shit!

dumb question:

so, america went into Iraq for oil and not for "world peace"?

Oil was a big reason, not to drive down our prices, but to control it and raise the prices. Meaning more profits for international oil companies. War contracts for companies like Haliburton and Blackwater are another. Building 14 permanent bases in the region. You could say this a strategic platform since we have bases in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and guess who we have just surrounded on both sides? Iran.

The pretenses leading up to the war were only half-truths, and a few blatant lies.

1. The stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction that Saddam supposedly had was what I would call a half-truth, and totally misleading. If you read history on Iraq you will find the United States and a few of its allies gave weapons to Saddam, including chemical weapons, to fight Iran in the First Persian Gulf War. We have been enemies with Iran for a long time, and our leaders thought Saddam would fight and win their war for them. I highly doubt Saddam had any WMD that were Iraqi made since there doesn't seem to be any evidence of that.

2. Saddam Hussein and his government were behind 9/11. This is a blatant lie of the highest degree. Although Saddam has funded Palestinian suicide bombers in past, there is no evidence whatsoever that Iraq had given aid Al-qaeda to commit the attacks. Bush will tell you even now that the Al-qaeda in Iraq fighting our troops now is the same Al-qaeda who attacked us on 9/11. Yet another blatant lie, because that group didn't form until we invaded Iraq. Al-qaeda in Iraq is inspired by Osama Bin Laden's resistance of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. But point being, they didn't exist until we invaded Iraq, so they decided they would drive out the infidels in a mujahadeen fashion.

3. We went in to liberate the Iraqi people. Well, to be honest, we were in fact "liberators", until month after month passed and we soon became "occupiers". The difference is a state of mind and action really...

Oh here is our old friends, Donald Rumsfeld and Saddam Hussein shaking hands...

Let's start with a game! Everyone, please play this: Newsgaming.com -- September 12th

You cannot fight terrorism with military force. It just doesn't work. We need to understand why a kid would be influenced by the extremist leaders so much that they would give their own life to hurt the 'enemy'. We also need to understand why the leaders have so much power. Similarities can be drawn with the IRA or even the KKK or BNP.

Short term, security should be handed over to the UN with the majority of troops drawn from non-western nations. There should not be US bases in Iraq (or elsewhere for that matter - including the UK) and control of resources such as oil should be decided by the Iraqis alone.

The US should pay for the rebuilding of what it has destroyed and the UN for the damage done by years of sanctions. The current brain-drain of educated people out of Iraq also needs to be addressed immediately.

Long term, the Israel/Palestine situation needs to be dealt with in an impartial manner - shame Tony Blair got the job. Without resolving that issue, Islamic extremism will continue to thrive.

Who is benefiting from this war on/of terror? Not the Iraqi people. Not the soldiers and their families. Not the average American or British taxpayer. It's companies like Halliburton and BAE that for centuries have profited from conflict. They have strong links to governments - some would say big business chooses governments - to truly sort this these links need to be broken.

We need to elect governments in the west that care about human life more than money and power. Short of a some sort of revolution I can't see that happening.
