Once you see behind the curtain, about the shit that goes on that isn't reported on the news, about how the American people are being deceived, it's impossible to look at this event of picking a new president as you once did.

I see these news people reporting the outcomes throughout the night and all I can think of is "all these people are in on the deception."

Who else on here can't stand to watch this theatrical production?

Our system is so fucked that he (or anyone) can be elected / re-elected and a lot of states aren't even done voting. It's also fucked up one state is allowed to have 55 "votes". Declaring someone the winner when people haven't even got to cast their vote is a big fuck you to that state and it's people.

What kinda fucked up policitical system you guys have in america? Electoral college is one major BS crap. When republicans control the house why can't they choose their leader?

Why can't americans directly choose their president? Why can't they vote for their local candidate representing a party and let the winning candidates decides on majority who becomes president? How can some BS electoral votes can choose a president when he is actually not in majority in the house?

The theory of a republic, is that the power is devolved between different branches.

History has shown however that one branch will tend to dominate the others. So while the judiciary, congress (senate and house) and executive (President) have different roles, the power has accrued primarily to the President and Senate, then the Judiciary, then the House.

Ironically, the House is the one branch the people can change easiest, and it is now the weakest branch.

At first glance, parliamentary democracy doesn't seem as good as a republic, but looking at how many successful parliamentary democracies there are (relatively speaking) I think that they are a much better form of government than a republic.

That said, government is government. They bully you, threaten you, try to dominate and control you. They live off you, and because they operate the military and build roads, this is supposed to be some sort of fair deal.
