For a 22 semi: 10/22 or a Marlin 60.

I got an AK74 receiver blank the other day. It needs some welding, drilling, and heat treatment + a parts kit. But then I can assemble my own and engrave whatever serial number I want. Building a rifle from scratch sounds like it is a fun project and a new life experience (assuming I don't die from an improper build).

Semi Auto 22LR: Cannot go wrong with a Ruger 10/22.

This is right.

10/22 is the epitome of a good semi-auto 22lr rifle.

Additionally there is the Remington 597 and the savage 64fxp which are decent rifles in of themselves, but can't touch the 10/22's reputation of being a extremely reliable rifle.

I have a stainless savage mk3 22lr bolt action that i absolutely loves. Does under 1" groups at 50yds with cheap bulk pack, which back in the day I stocked up on at $15 per 550rds. Between my dad and I we have around 22,000 total rounds of the stuff. More than enough to keep practicing for a while.

2 weeks ago I also took the advice of a friend of mine and got savage's new 223 hog rifle. It comes stock with a match trigger and is IMMENSELY accurate with cheap 223 ammo, right now I'm doing clover-leaf groups at 50-60 yards just from firing prone (no benchrest) with wolf ammo. This is pretty great as I expect 1-1.5" groups at 100yds with the cheapest ammo possible.

Nope, you just had to have the money for it.

NY had (up until last month) had their own version of the 1994 AWB which made such guns expensive, but not impossible to get. A AR15 was running $2k and a AK was about $1k.

Any type of weapon forbidden in NY, what you talking about?
To get a pepper spray you have to go to authorized dealer and give them all the papers for background check.
So dildo it is.

Seconded for Ruger 10/22. All kinds of mags out there for it as well. Your fingertips will hate you with anytime spent loading .22 mags.

The magzine might not be a issue, but one of the reasons I am looking at marlin 60 since its tube feed. Ill let you guys know though what I end up getting though, thanks for the info. 10/22 was on my list as well and so was the 795

Well to get away from talking about dildos and New York, I picked up a late Christmas and birthday present for myself and my wife.

Grabbed an M&P .40, a p226 9, and an fns 9 to add to the cache. As someone smarter than me said you can never have too many guns ;)

I picked this up right before the madness started. Arsenal, Milled Receiver 7.62x39 AK. I love this thing.

...dipshit, coming from a guy who's using a red dot hologram wi iron sights on an ak47. Bahahahahahahahahha...

....anyway, I went to Walmart and all the ammo is still sold out, except one caliber. They literally have 2k rounds plus of 380-acp. I'm considering going in there, buying it all... Then finding a gun.

What you trying to say its illegal in the state but you can carry it in the city? Sounds weird to me. :338:

I stated it backwards.

Outside of NYC, in upper state New York, it was possible to buy AKs , ARs or even get a concealed carry license for a handgun like a glock complete with 15rd or 17 round magazines. This all has changed in the past month with all the law stuff.

So what you're saying is the only place to buy ammo is Walmart? I've had no problems picking up rounds. Granted specific brands and weights are in shorter supply, but to say there is no ammo to be found is far from accurate.

Happy Valentine's day to me, from the girlfriend:

I've been meaning to drop some pictures the arsenal for a while now. This is a picture of "Buckwheat", my every day carry. Springfield .40 xDM subcompact. Grip safety, chamber indicator, trigger safety, and 16 round mag capability.

Dear Nazi piece of shit: I use the red dot because of my vision. I've had both of the lenses replaced in my eyes due to a cataract, which renders my short distance vision useless. The red dot allows me to see and aim perfectly without throwing on glasses. I hope this helps your shit-caked & damaged brain to understand the setup.

So if Walmart is out of ammo, the entire universe must be out? You really are a stupid piece of shit aren't you?

Those FALs are so nice. Was on my wish list but then OBAMA screwed up everything in life. I think its the perfect SHTF long ranged weapon. Very nice.

I love my FALs :) Need to get a different top rail + scope for the bipod one and then it will be pretty awesome long range.

The AK is still the bug out gun, not that I really believe in that.
