Lego Drops Jaba the Hutt toy because of Muslim Outrcy

Muslims always go nuts about their religion.

I remember when Infinity Ward had to pull Favela out of the Maps in Modern Warfare 3. Because this sign, a quote from their prophet Mohammed, is near a toilet. Derp.

Kilic said the issue was not merely cultural, but also a reminder that parents should be more thoughtful about what toys their kids play with.

Like American parent's really give a single shit about a child's toy offending someone's non-main stream culture...

Example: One nation under god in the pledge..

Replace that to jihad and see what happens...

Also, do the kids REALLY think some lego's toy is about Muslims? This is just as bad as black people using the race card to defend a point that no one really cares about.

I put this on Allah:

first one of you that talks shit about my creator is seeing Allah. I don't like it, and I'm not christian, muslim or jewish, but they ARE talking about The Most High in their books. I will defend the divine with my life. No bullshit, no frills, I love God.

Lego has been scoring big lately on the customer service front. Read the following two stories to see what I mean (they'll give you a chuckle).

Lego turns boy's loss into customer service win- MSN Money

Given how driven the company seems to be to cater to its market, it is unsurprising that it has agreed to pull the Jabba palace. Also, it's worth pointing out that TCAA is agitating in the same way that MADD, OMM, and homosexuals have agitated.

They're all crazy.

I should also remind that none have threatened outright violence against peaceful people (to my knowledge).* That is more than can be said for agents of TSA, IRS, DOJ, FBI, DHS, and other agencies.

* I am not referring to electoral voting, which I consider to be an act of (cowardly) violence.

Nice little investment for some people. The value of it will likely spike once all the stores are sold out.

Wait wait wait.

Did anyone actually read the article? For those who didn't, it says that basically, the writer's short on stories, so instead of writing something with any actual truth behind it, he spotted that a few randomers had complained about some lego, and that that lego happened to be coming to the end of its lifecycle at the end of the year (as they do, you can't sell the same lego forever), and wrote an article somehow tying the two together.

This is a total nonstory, basically, a couple of people don't like some lego, NBC writes a story about them.

Edit: Fuck I'm late

Damn, they're all over $159 now on amazon... What were they priced at originally?

Amazon had a shit load for $89.00. I threw one in my cart and the price went up to $119. By the time I checked out, there weren't any available from that seller, so I had to find another one. I paid $120.

It's totally possible that this is an April Fools day joke, but it does look like it's discontinued. They're on ebay now in the $150-$200+. So who the hell knows. Any discontinued Star Wars toy has to be worth something to the freaks several years from now.

1. Put out a product that has some connection to Allah or Muslim religion
2. Wait for the outcry that convinces the world billions care about you and your product, and pull it.
3. Acquire PR for the company and other products.
4. ???
5. Million $$$ in the bank.

Some info

- Lego never admitted to it resembling the Hagia Sophia, but pointed to the Star Wars design they followed.

- They also deny the drop having anything to do with the "outcry", but point to a scheduled exit in 2013.

- The Haga Sophia was originally a Christian church, it is not even a mosque anymore
Today, use of the complex as a place of worship (mosque or church) is strictly prohibited.[38] However, in 2006, it was reported that the Turkish government allowed the allocation of a small room in the museum complex to be used as a prayer room for Christian and Muslim museum staff.[39] The museum's hours are 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, Tuesday through Sunday; entry fee is 25 TL, or free with the use of a Museum Card.
