Where's CCarter?

What was the problem with his BST thread. Was he scamming people in it?

He was definitely not scamming people. I know as I purchased from his thread and I would again.
The only issue I could possibly see is the method used to acquire the links. Some people may have had a problem with it.

Ccarter was a good guy, but if it's true about what barman said... I wonder if it had anything to do with penguin 2.0 being rolled out. Methods dried up and he made a cash grab?

I'm glad I never wasted my time trying to become a "master" of SEO.

I'm sure CCarter will clarify everything when he's back from his ban. As far as I'm aware the ban was mainly to do with his BST & specifically the way he was attaining the links he was selling.

Nothing what-so-ever to do with penguin, the link effectiveness, miss selling or anything like that.

I love how we now have CCarter spokesmen on this forum.

Someone once said to me, "Wickedfire is a community of marketers who love being marketed to."

That guy was spot on.

I owe CCarter a debt of gratitude. I feel I owe the same to you, thehobbster, julianflynn and many others.

If you were to stop posting here it would leave a gaping hole. Your insights are the reason many newbies like myself find this forum and attempt to participate.

I agree with you, CCarter successfully built up his personal brand on WF, loaded with positive rep and the degree of recommendation that entails , added a twist of cashvertising 101 (authority/scarcity/time limits) and it worked a charm. Very effective marketer

Not sure if you're referring to me, but if so then my post was deliberately diplomatic to avoid getting involved in something that is not my concern in the slightest.

I just wanted to highlight that he did get banned for a reason, and that it wasn't some bullshit "inner circle" putting pressure on to get him banned because the "bst spam link cartel" (whoever they are, that's perhaps what -- 2-3 people?) weren't happy with his BST or any other crap like that. I don't think there's any "conspiracy" to shut CCarter out of the forum because he somehow helped noobs to get on the ladder or anything else like it.

Few people stand to benefit from noobs being noobs here at WF, beyond perhaps the Indians selling the most laughable of BST packages. People being better educated and having more money means more $$$ for BST sellers largely, more people for product sellers/networks to get to push their products & a better community in general.

He was banned for a genuine reason. He broke the rules, but it's his responsibility to explain the full story when he comes back.
