iPhone No More!

I got the S4. Not a big fan. Going to go back to iPhone. Pain in the ass with file transfers, keyboard sucks, videos aren't as good as the 5. I guess if I spent time learning everything I would like it, but I just like how simple iPhones are to use.

It's actually not the first time I've seen someone post the keyboard sucks. If you're just using the default keyboard (which does suck) then I understand why. Have you tried the Swype keyboard? If you ask me, the best thing in existence and one reason I haven't switched to an iPhone - touch typing. Swype comes pre-installed. If none of those do it for you, unlike the iPhone, there are other keyboards in the Play Store.

What is a pain in the ass about file transfers?

I am going to look into that. As far as the file transfers, it's just a pain that I have to use a third party program. I am used to it sinking with my iTunes (mac user).

I'm really just disappointed in the video. I like to take lots of video of my kids, vacations, wife naked, and it just doesn't compare to the 5. Camera is good, but so is the 5.

I got the white version of the Nexus a few weeks back. Other than missing the keyboard from my previous phone, it's lightning fast, pretty easy to use. Screen is large, phone is lightweight. Not bad on TMobile, and comes with free hotspot.

Yes. As much as I want to love the HTC One because it really looks and feels like a quality piece of kit, by most accounts the battery life is abysmal and it is not user replaceable. It also has no SD card slot, unless you can get your hands on the Chinese version. It doesn't have the same level of hardware features the Galaxy S4 has. It's also impossible to service yourself (ie. replace the screen or battery) HTC One Teardown - iFixit

The HTC One scores a 1/10 whereas the S4 scores an 8/10 on their scale.

Looks and build quality are quintessential for any flagship device.I would also prefer the real colours and IPS display of the HTC One over that of S4's over saturated colours which pop out way too much .

That being said,I would'nt buy any of those devices and waiting for this year's Google I/O seems to be a much better option . A Nexus device clearly offers more value for money .

If you do decide to get the S4, get the Google edition, instead of the standard which is riddled with Samsung's crapware.

I'm not sure if it's out yet

You can't modify the contrast of the S4's screen?

Google's IO is already over and they didnt launch a nexus device, but a S4 Google edition basically an S4 with the stock android

I'm actually starting to hate the phone market. Nothing exciting.

iPhone 5 - Getting long in the tooth. Maybe iOS 7 final will make things seem newer. App support and integration with my Mac makes me stay here.

Galaxy S4 - Can't stand Androids fragmentation and the fact that you have to wait on carriers for updates.

Nokia Lumia - Not sure about Windows 8 phones. They look cool but fuck I hate Microsoft. Maybe I'll give one a try.

Blackberry - This interests me but after years of stagnation they have some serious catching up to do, and at this point isn't a serious contender due to the lack of apps. Although their development pace seems to be really fast.

What's a gay webmaster supposed to do?

I must admit that I am an Apple follower from the very start as well..
But rather than S4, I would go HTC :))

Anyone here using the most recent keyboard Blackberry? I've been using an iPhone since the 3G, but honestly I feel like a phone that's tailored to just communication would suit me a lot better- less distractions. Any input on speed of the BB vs i5, app support, etc.?
