Step 1: don't pull a knife out on a public bus like a lunatic.

Step 2: if you decide pulling a knife on a bus is just too tempting so you do it anyway, when the cops come and point guns at you saying drop the knife...drop the fucking knife.

^misplaced & tasteless humor, there's a huge difference between an ass-kicking and being shot 9 fucking times. I personally don't see how anyone in their right mind can side with the police officer on this one.

It's tough for most people when they've been so indoctrinated to believe in authority, obedience, costumes and badges. It takes a serious process of self-transformation to see past those silly things.

I'm not seeing a cop shooting a civilian.

I'm seeing a human being threating other humans with a knife. The others happen to have guns.

I'm not sure about you, but if someone charges at me with a knife and I have a gun and gave them a warning, they are dead. If you are such a kind and wonderful human being as to disregard your own safety, well good for you. But I'm not. Nor do I expect others to be. This is regardless of who is who (old lady, young kid, police, fire-worker, politician, etc... all that is irrelevant)

You talk about being able to see past labels; yet I'm sure if the guy doing the shooting was an ordinary person (especially some little old libertarian lady) and not a police officer, you would be on the side of the ordinary person.

Shooting someone once or 15 times is also irrelevant, you shot until the the threat is over. Someone can slash you easily if they are shot and you approach them (especially if they are mentally fucked up) Sure, the person shot once MIGHT not attack you with the knife when you approach, but they might attack you.

What threat? The scrawny kid was alone, in a bus, 15 feet away. It took 9 shots from 7 big well-trained police officers to neutralize a 130 pound teenager with a steak knife?

Did you watch the video? The police officers are at least 10 feet+ from the bus, the kid was not charging anyone.

The cop was just being a pig, something many of them do great.

No one has ever thrown a knife a distance of 10ft and injured the person he/she threw it at. EVER.

I dislike the authoritarianism of many police just as much as the next guy. But this video is far from police brutality.

You also conveniently didn't answer the part of looking past distinctions... if it was a little old lady doing the shooting, you'd probably be in her favor. Saying cops and viewing cops as just another person goes both ways, both against their authority, as well as in favor of their actions as ordinary people in a dangerous situation.

@ the vehicle being empty, I don't think the vehicle was just parked empty int he middle of the street and the guy got on and started making threatening gestures. And it wasn't exactly charging, but he was not complying and moving around; when someone has a knife, is making threats and moves around fast, and you have a gun... I'm guessing you are going to use your gun. And if you shoot once to just injure, you are retarded. Not only will you get sued, but the guy with the knife can still do you damage when injured. Guns have a purpose, to kill.

The cop was charged with 2nd degree murder bro, did you miss that part? Pretty sure the pig would rather go back in time, shoot the kid in both legs, perhaps get sued and cough up a couple grand, but he would've most likely won his case in court as as he simply neutralized the kid without having to take his life.

You are right; how silly of me. If he was charged with 2nd degree murder, therefore he was wrong. If he wasn't charged, he was right? Am I following your logic correctly?

How many shots were fired, nine? And yet all I can find is he died from a gunshot wound. A wound, not multiple wounds, Maybe all the other shots were trying to ping him.

Don't know much about the Zimmerman case... didn't follow it. But the whole debate around 'self-defense' or the 'right to bear arms' etc is wasted on us Brits because those rights just don't exist over here.
