I just enabled ACHI and the Trim command.
All that mumbo jumbo registry editing stuff you posted from ASUS shouldn't be necessary. Trim gets turned on automatically in Windows when you plug a SSD in and AHCI is turned on in the bios and registry edits are unnecessary for it to work. Like Midas, I too use the software RAID, or mirrored disk as Windows calls it. You set this up in Computer Management > Disk Management.
Another thing you can try with 16gb+ of RAM is turning off your paging file. I haven't run a paging file for more than a year now. It's not necessary as long as you've got the memory.
