GF inherits $33.6K - Need advice on how best to invest etc

Don't know your specific situation, but if you don't currently own I'd consider using as a deposit on a mortgage. There are some good opportunities East (not fucking Sunny Beach) property wise, but unless you can navigate the local quirks and know what you're doing it would be a better idea to look locally..

If you want to invest for income, shop around and see what they can offer you. To give you an idea though, on that kind of sum, ~3% for medium risk wouldn't be unrealistic, which ain't great. Rental yields in residential ~5%+..

Food for thought.

Oh, also just want to echo the comments above RE no harm in sitting on it while you're figuring out what to do. :)

Not sure that Sterling is any safer than the Euro, currency conversions are a bitch and if you set up a Sterling account locally there would likely be hefty charges on banking (we have a EUR account here.)

If you are worried about the Italian banks, I know Ireland have a deposit guarantee scheme in place which would easily cover the sum you are talking about, not to mention in SEPA etc.

Pls no Bitcoin.

I was trolling about the sunny beach part (though its nice in the summer) but you're telling him to get the girl in debt over something she might not be excited for investing in, and then to avoid bitcoin. that's retarded.

Well, obviously it's up to her - it was just my suggestion. :) Renting in Europe is a mug's game and if you know the area (up and coming etc) then you can make a decent return on your capital over say a 5-10 year period.. Plus residential will yield better than most investments for income - at least in the UK anyway.

RE Bitcoin.. Well.. No further comment.

Haha..I was wondering how much a good Cam girl on there makes. Serious question.
A girl I used to be fuck buddies with averaged about $40/hour long term, and she wasn't doing anything crazy. She'd get her tits out for a few minutes for a big enough tip, and she would get naked and masturbate normally for private/group. Most of the time she was just talking to guys and fucking off. She wasn't super model attractive, but she was somewhere in the 7.5-8 range. She would only do it about 10 hours/week because that kept it fun for her. I imagine you'd earn a lot more if you had built a following or were on the top tier of looks or did crazier shit.

She is 100% right, Sterling is much safer than Euro. And as for Ireland, the deposit guarantee scheme wont mean shit if the Euro takes a massive nosedive (which it will).

Sterling is the only safe bet at the moment in my opinion currency wise.

Sit on cash atm or start her own business.

Oh, and don't invest until the new year. The Democrats and Tea Party are going to start fighting over the debt ceiling again right away.

Is she educated, play music well, does she speak a second language, does she have a hobby, ever traveled, ect.

There is no better time to be a passive investor than when the stock market is at an all time high. Nothing could possibly go wrong. NOTHING!

Same for bitcoin.

The best way to invest:

1- Don't invest when there is blood on the street
2- Don't invest when things start to pick up
3- Invest when the market is super high
4- ???
5- Profit
