I'm getting sick and tired of cities, esp in CA, banning plastic bags.

That's great and all, but what about the Blue Footed Boobies? They need to be made a top priority.

We will have to join the state run insurance man, no choice, unless Guerilla does something about it :pimp:

Since the insurance companies can no longer deny policies for pre-existing conditions, you can sign up when you get really sick. However, the major problem is unforeseen accidents. I think there's a way of minimizing the monetary damage from these but I have to check with my lawyer buddy first.

The way I see it, the insurance companies are no better than thieves since most of them pushed for Obamacare to secure more customers.

You are right about that, I am comparing coveredca.com prices, deductibles are fucking crazy, the ppo, hmo, epo, are going to make a killing

In 1 post you is fightin da man http://www.wickedfire.com/shooting-...s-eurocrats-tax-avoiders-quotes-rothbard.html

In this post you is the man.

I think if you need them for picking up leaves or something it's cool, buy them
It is not necc. for every pack of gum you buy or your pack of Magnum's.

I shop just fine without plastic bags, carry me sheet in a backpack, gay tote bag or whatever.

What made you want to post this? Other than being "sick" of it.

It's obvious that it is a poor attempt at propaganda by the guys making plastic bags.

It's another encroachment on freedom. If you don't want to use them, fine. But I'd rather have the choice. I like the convenience and don't need some parasitic politician telling me I can't use them. The proponents like to claim that the bags are littering our streets, waters, etc. However, they're less than 1/2 of one percent of the litter.

Lastly, if you like e. coli, you'll love those gay tote bags:

Just because they make up small % of total garbage by volume doesn't mean they aren't a problem. It still amounts to billions of plastic bags winding up in places they shouldn't every year. Some people are so irresponsible that they need to be legislated to stop the damage they are doing.

People that don't wash their bags out, and who get sick as a result, also don't wash their food properly. People are incredibly stupid.

Every grocery store in Europe is selling some variation on these...

And they are great! They unfold to form a rigid flat bottom rectangular bag that is easier to load, that holds more, that doesn't squash the shit out of your goods, that fits nicely with others in the trunk of the car, and that is easier to carry because they have wide handles, both long and short, made of webbing material. They are practically indestructible, can be rinsed out with soapy water if they get dirty, and are completely recyclable.

They are so much better that I wouldn't ever want to go back to old school plastic again. Think of it as improving your life, society and our environment, and less about encroaching on your freedoms.

It's not a problem and it's not billion of pieces of plastic bags ending everywhere. Most (99%+) end in the landfill. Plastic bags are better than paper bags, which are still legal, because they take up less landfill space.

It's a non-problem. Check the facts. BTW, you can order plastic bags on Amazon. That's what I'm doing. The eco-fascists can suck it!

I usually get plastic bags because the grocery store is only about half a mile from my house so I like to walk there and back. When you're carrying 5-6 bags it's MUCH easier to hold the plastic handles than it is to fiddle around with some bulky rectangular paper bags.

I only get paper if I'm driving.

Plus, the paper bags usually break if you walk more than 100 feet with them.

I don't have any issue with bringing one or more re-usable bags when I purchase groceries.
Perhaps people should grow up and be able to remember re-usable bags?

You can keep telling yourself over and over again that it's not a problem, but that's not going to change anything. I have checked the facts. It's estimated that 500 billion to a trillion plastic bags are used around the world every year. Even if it's just 1/10th of 1% that are entering the environment each year, that's still as many as a billion plastic bags winding up in places where they shouldn't.

You can fit as much in two of the rectangular bags I posted above as you can in 5 or 6 plastic ones, and with the webbing handles they are so much easier to carry. Your hands are much more comfortable and your groceries arrive in better shape. They are vastly superior to paper. If you don't believe me I'll mail you a couple to try. If you don't like them, just recycle them.

The rationale for the plastic bag bans in the US is that the bags become litter in large numbers and that is clearly not the case. Maybe in Europe but not in the US.

If you think it's a problem, convince people to use those gay cloth bags. Don't threaten businesses with fines and imprisonment if they want to give the bags to willing customers. Most environmentalists are watermelons: green on the outside, red on the inside.

Huh? If you want to use re-usable bags, go ahead. Just don't force your preferences on others. There's nothing wrong with plastic bags. They're better for the environment than paper bags.
