If you require a movie to get "motivated" to become an entrepreneur, than you will be a shitty entrepreneur. You will try for a few months and then give up when it gets tough.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been dreaming of entrepreneurship since I was 12 or 13 years old. Long before I saw any movies or tv shows on the subject.

I don't want regular sheeple knowing too much about entrepreneurship and capitalism. We need them to be stupid so they buy our shit. We need colleges and universities to pump out employees so they can do the menial stuff that we don't want to be bothered with.

Instilling the techniques and values of entrepreneurship, innovation, and the creation of wealth is something that I will reserve for my children and the select few I choose to mentor. That is something that I will be personally responsible for and something that I will take great pride in. Fuck everybody else.

People who identify either as being an entrepreneur or wanting to be an entrepreneur is at an all time high, how many of them actually have the dedication, resources, and innovation to actually pull through with that remains to be seen but it is something that more and more people are interested in.

disagree - i have everything from office space, to boiler room, to runner runner, to scarface, to Paid in Full, to Juice playing in my office all day as I entrepreneur around the web. And it only helps, not harms. If I'm too lazy to work that week/that month - a movie can snap me out of it.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy those type of movies. I've always been very curious about how people ascend to greatness and the type of skills/traits it requires to get there.

However, OP is implying that there needs to be more entrepreneurial movies out there to encourage people to go down our path. That is something I disagree with. I don't think watching Boiler Room encourages the average blue collar worker to become a shady stock broker.

I think guys like you and me enjoy watching those type of movies because we see it as a reflection of our own struggle.

I think what he meant is if you weren't an entrepreneur before you saw those movies, they probably won't help you become one after you see them.

However if you're already an entrepreneur, such movies can be very inspiring and thus motivational.

Also I totally agree with that movie list and feel the same way about them.
