Is society ready for this pregnant husband?

Gender is psychological and sex is physiological, and so called "sex changes" don't change the person's sex, it is just a cosmetic procedure. Really this is still a story about a pregnant female, but one that lives the gender role of a man in everyday life and has the cosmetic appearance of a man.

I was appalled at the way the medical staff treated him. They are supposed to be proffessionals.

I was so pissed when I waited for this on the news. I sat there for 40 minutes waiting for this killer story and it just turns out to be some chick that wished she was a guy that got pregnant becasue her girlfriends couldn't.

Indeed. I have the most insanely neo-con parents, but my dad would never turn away a patient and hide behind 'religion'.

Hopefully by the time the next generation grows up these pathetic stains on society will be all but bred out. There should be no room in polite society for people of such small intellect.

All the best to the family, and especially the kid - growing up could be tough considering how asinine Americans tend to be.

Wow.
Oregon...

They must be from Springfield... Some weird shit goes down in springfield.

Eitherway, best of luck.

I agree that the medical staff should be unbiased how they treat everyone. I do hope the family has a success at the birth and that society will not scar this kid for life!

Well, I find this seriously strange, but whatever floats these people's boats. Although, I hope the child isn't affected by his parents choices.

i shoulda read the rest of this thread before reading the article. The whole time i was reading i kept wondering a) why is this written in first person and why isn't this bigger news. b) If you ask a guy, even a transgender one to describe pregnancy, this is not what he would write. This has got to be a transgender girl writing this.

We're all affected by our parent's choices. I'm still trying to get over the the religious intolerance I had to deal with as a child/teen.

I wonder what I'm doing now to my 6 year old that will have him therapy later.

As long as the kid is loved, accepted and respected, it will turn out fine.

Ha! Not likely, I mean we are talking about a walking freak show - hell a whole freakshow would get more respect probably. It's just disturbing really.

Think about how bias you are over the course of a day when interacting with other people, its only natural. I feel for that thing ["person - he - she - it"] but not really.

In a few years this story will be forgotten and all anyone will see is what appears to be a man, a woman and their child walking down the street. No one will give it a second look.

If you want to feel sorry for anyone it should be the kids of Michael Jackson or Britney Spears. Now there's a couple of freak shows.

How ironic. Imagine the pain it must be going through? Going through great lengths to become an apparent man only to become pregnant and provide a function as nature intended in the first place.
