Since I've got a little girl who will be going to college within the next decade, potentially a few big things did come out of today for me.
1. Arkansas voted in a lottery to fund in-state college tuition
2. Obama has promised $5000 every year to every kid
(yes I'm to be holding him to that)
Sounds like I'll be paying for her bills instead of tuition in a few years. This is great news if it holds up as my brother got $2200 the 1st year Tennessee's lottery kicked in. I think the university of Arkansas was $5800/year this year. That sounds like it will close to wash out.
... I'm trying to look at positives here so I'll go on.
For all of his shortcomings, and there are many, Obama has the opportunity to be somewhat of a mascot for America. Foreign countries/organizations will feel relieved, almost vendicated, that "We the people" have such a bleeding heart for their cause that we elected Obama. There might be a little less hostility to our country and in the long-run, be the thing he is remembered most for.
Also, since the minorities believe that we're no longer a racist nation, we can get rid of affirmative action, civil rights lawsuits and all the "blacks only clubs" like the UNCF & the ACLU.
The stats coming in show that 95% of ALL blacks voted Obama. Some states that have as high as 91% white population went to Obama. I'll let you draw your own conclusions on those numbers.
The President is far from the most powerful position in the world.
