Well said Nevele... This whole war on terror shit is not so much about money as control. Keep the sheep scared of the wolves and they won't think about the trip to the abattoir.

We do not fucking torture!

Really guys America is a country of torturers and your alright with that? Could you torture someone in front of your mom or grandmother? That is your first clue you know it is wrong.

I guess fucking your girlfriend or wife is wrong as well...

Funny thing is, as an AMERICAN citizen, I would be afraid right now.

So many things are going on the "war on terror" lists over there, it is unbelievable.
Normal people get put on suspected terrorist lists, on no-fly lists, under surveillance for little or no reason at all - well, they might have checked out some weird books.

Now add torture as a "legal" instrument - fun for the whole family.

Thoreau (American Writer, not French) called for "civil disobedience" whenever the state did something wrong.

Do something, people.
At least open your eyes.

While I'd rather piss glass than read Thoreau again (took entire classes on American romanticism, naturalism, and transcendentalism as an english major) I definitely agree with the points he conveyed. It was his style of writing that I found insufferable.

"What country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & What country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is its natural manure."

- Thomas Jefferson, in a letter to William S. Smith

"We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution."

- Abraham Lincoln

Funny thing about that no fly list, 25,000 names are added each month and they're trying to push so that these people can't own guns. I'd bet 99.9% are just normal people, I've heard about a 5 year old kid being on there.

Back a few years ago when I was flying from Charlotte NC (Basic Training at Ft. Jackson) to Ft. Huachuca AZ I was stopped and thoroughly searched. I was in military uniform, with military ID with dozens of other soldiers... I was told my name was on a watch list, which obviously shows that the government's process is FLAWED.

The government doesn't want the people to own guns, plain and simple. Reason? See quotes above.

Who are you quoting? I couldn't find where anyone else in the thread said this.

Whoever it was may not have known because they were fresh out of bootcamp but ANY military member flying under orders, ESPECIALLY while in uniform, can bypass airport security at any time. All you gotta do is show your orders and ID.

Nicely put.

Also, waterboarding isn't simulating drowning - it is drowning. The CIA pours water down a victim's nose (which fills their lungs) for a full minute until they pass out (then they repeat the process, for four to as many times are needed).

It may not kill you, but having liquid in your lungs is extremely dangerous. Also, passing out from being drowned just reeks of brain damage.

On top of all this, the victim can be detained on a whim (because of a mere suspicion and not proof), meaning innocents will most definitely be tortured. It is also very plausible that an innocent person will say a blatant lie so that they can make the brain damaging drowning stop.

jesus christ, isnt information released by the CIA the last fucking thing anyone would ever trust? isn't it their job to spy and lie and shit? come on people

^^Yet another reason why waterboarding is too fucked up for the CIA to be using. Really, there is so much wrong with waterboarding, that it should never be used.

This 'ere internet be a hell of a lot better at keeping people in their place than any "anti-terror" laws. We are all way to busy talking about what's wrong to actually try and change it.

this waterboarding bullshit is just to deflect from the real issues at hand. The CIA poured some water down a terrorists nose to make him talk, big deal. Get over it. Obama is trying to gain control over every large U.S. bank and you guys are worried about this? lol The government wants to regulate health care and decide who lives and dies. Khalied Sheik Mohammed's rights are my last priority sorry.

I lost faith in the collective intelligence of america the day acai started converting.

LOL! And they say that 73.29% of stats are twisted to make things look the way they want them to look. ;)

PS: Did you know that 58.9% of members here love staring at spinning dicks and 44% support abortion rights for gay people?

Sorry I should have sourced that.

I can't imagine why I would be searched and treated suspiciously but still given a Top Secret Security Clearance, but if this is the case someone really dropped the ball.
