It's time to buy Affiliate Island

if you renounce citizenship and make it your permanent home, use bahaman bank accounts and say it was for "luxury lifestyle purposes" rather than tax purposes, then you should be fine.

"Renouncing your citizenship doesn't work either as you are still liable for 10 years"

i don't know how they can tax you when you move out, renounce citizenship, and tell them to fuck off.

Yeah, that will work in theory, as long as you dont want to go back to the US. Cause if you get new citizenship somewhere (worth a separate thread to talk about this)

and need a visa to the US, they do in fact ask you on your Visa application .
"Have you previously held US citizenship and renounced it for tax purposes"

Yeah, as has been pointed out, you can never set foot back in the US. You better also make sure that the country you decide to live in and the countries you decide to visit don't have extradition treaties with the US either. If you're a big enough fish they'll come after you.

The United States is also actively currently seeking tax treaties with countries around the world where those don't already exist. This way they can get bank account and other financial info out of those countries by simply asking for it. They just signed one with Gibraltar which has traditionally been an offshore haven, but since they want to be on the up and up in the EU they've basically invited all countries to sign such treaties with them.

Waiting to see if they do one up with Canada, though Canada doesn't follow your international activity as bad as the Americans from what I understand.

Switzerland is still telling the US to fuck off last I heard though. I've always wanted a Swiss bank account. I think I need to look into that.

Just pay your taxes after you find many fun and exciting ways to get reduce your income. For instance, I believe you can deduct a boat as a business expense as long as it has a head - call it one of the satellite offices or business entertainment or whatever . .

Buy a bar or restaurant and use the losses to offset your profit. . .

Oh yeah, and get all this stuff set up before you have .5M laying around . . .

Hang on , how can the police arrest you if they dont even know what island your on -.- and you could just make a law saying

police arnt aloud on the island otherwise get shot

I'm pretty sure you can't make your own laws. You're not starting your own country :)

It's fucking stupid that you can't drop US citizenship for any reason you decide. Those motherfuckers think they actually own us.

Anyways -- I'm in. Just don't fill the island with mansions. Us average affiliates want some freedom too!

Yah the island is cheap, it's the development I think that would start to get costly. You have to get everything to your island I would believe...electricity, clean water, etc.

Either way. If like 50 super affs got together and wanted to start a colony, would be pretty sick.

Florida law down in the key states that any new construction must be built 10ft above sea level in case of storms etc. Most island cultures do this anyway for storms and flooding. So if we all built out homes 10ft up and sea levels rose 5ft we would have our own little Bahama Venice.
