couldn't live without?

For me it would be my oqo, it allows me to be away from my desk but still connected to check stats or if something happens like a downed server or messed up script or fix an lp while out and about. As we know money never sleeps and that 30 mins it takes to get back to your desk can mean the difference between losing a couple hundred to a couple thousand dollars.

I've been seriously wanting to get an OQO. I currently use an archos for traveling but the oqo seems way better. Mind hooking us up with your review of it?

Oh and +1 to the iphone and on the subject of things i couldn't do this business without i'd like to give a shoutout to the minifridge next to my desk. LUV YA AND COULDN'T WORK WITHOUT YA BY MY SIDE BUDDY! KEEP COOL! /props

Close 2nd: Beer & orange juice in the morning and my Blackberry.

Cannot live without: Dual 22" monitors. They make a world of difference in productivity.

VirtualBox.
There's nothing like a fresh install for testing stuff out, sniffing traffic, whatever. I have probably 16-20 VMs on my desktop setup for different things.

It's also great for testing purposes. If there's a script that references multiple domains on different servers for whatever reason, it's piss easy to set them up with XAMPP(webserver+mysql), then use the windows host file to point the domains at their VMed bretheren(as a sandbox).

Oh. Also since the Microsoft AdCenter Desktop Tool doesn't support 64 bit processors yet (argh), you can just set up a 32 bit VM for it.

It's glorious.

what do you want to know about it?

I have a hard metal case for it, its about a little bigger than an iphone but its got a full os on it. I have xp on mine not vista. I have the extended battery and the reg, on the extended it lasts about 4 hours, reg battery is about 2 hours(this is with it being constantly on). After I'm done checking it I usually put it to hibernate so I just gotta hit the power button and its back up. Never had a problem with it, it isn't slow at all, some people even use it for gamins like playing wow and stuff from the videos on youtube I've seen. I've used it for aim and I've actually skyped on it but only voice or other people on their webcam.

I'm wondering about the OQOs potential for LogMeIn, etc just as a quick portal into your main PC. So if I'm on the road and I need to check email quickly, it's probably easier to WIFI connect somewhere and just run logmein, although my 23" screen resolution might drive me crazy on this tiny screen, it probably would scroll all around in chunks on my desktop and drive me batty. But for a quick PUTTY it's probably perfect.

I know on these tiny things you cant really install high end software, etc correct? How much HD and RAM do they have and do you treat it like another PC?

Iphone for constant refreshing of stats and putting the brakes on campaigns when they hit the shits

I know it looks portable-ish. But its just big enough where I would opt for a 10" eeePC or AspireOne for roughly 300-400 instead of paying 1300-1700.

The company behind the OQO is dying or dead... I read something yesterday about them not honoring warranties or answering phones, office piled up with trash, not paying creditors, etc.

There are some new tablet PCs coming out soon, or you can use a netbook... much cheaper than an OQO, even though they're not quite as compact.

The Nokia 7xx and 8xx line aren't bad either, but they're Linux, not Windows.

An autoresponder.

I find it hilarious when someone emails me back and thinks it's a live email.

I've used logmein without a problem and I got a 30in and 2 24in monitors on my desktop. Mine has a 60gb hd and about 512 ram. what kind of high end software you talking about? Anything that can run on a netbook can run on this this also has an hdmi output port.

fuck really? man that sucks, its such an awesome device. scratch another company off the list due to the economy and stuff.

Would explain why 99% of the retailers/resellers I clicked on their website had nothing more than the hard case in stock. But I wouldn't blame the economy, rather their support from the sound of it. If they can't honor warranties or provided decent support, that'll shut a company down faster than the economy.
