Monckton spittin the facts yet again...

obviously a well-educated interviewer with rehearsed arguments will be able to win an argument against a random citizen who hasn't spent a lifetime researching the topic

Awww, that poor widdle Gweenpeace lady!

Lord Monckton is my hero. Seriously, I want to have a pint with this dude. Monckton is a badass.

Yeah, dude's legit. He's really done his research. Here he is schooling some more climate change robots:

Your a fool if you think constant industrial pollution has had no effect on our environment. 300 years ago is incomparable to the last 30 years. Population 300 years ago is incomparable to today. There has always been a series of warming and cooling cycles for millions of years, but arguing that this kind of warming that we are seeing today is the same as those cycles is wildly inaccurate.

Another drone, I see. If you can disprove a single thing Monckton says, by all means proceed.

He addresses your confused talking points here:

Fuck you. Those aren't talking points. Those are my thoughts on the issue.

The fact that you assume people who don't agree with you are only regurgitating someone's ideas is a fucked way to go on in life.

I don't think anyone disputes that. The question is, as living standards rise, so does pollution. Is it worth it? Is it worth it to curtail industrialization? What specifically are the effects? How do we change them?

Correlation is not causation.

There has always been a series of warming and cooling cycles for millions of years, but arguing that this kind of warming that we are seeing today is the same as those cycles is wildly inaccurate.
Actually, it is not wildly inaccurate. The earth has been hotter, with higher CO2 levels (CO2 lags temperature btw) prior to industrialization.

What Monckton and others like him oppose, is radical green agendas that call for de-industrialization and the institution of a scientific technocracy that is unelected, and controls the world's science and commerce.

Already the climate alarmists have triggered policy which has incentivized reducing food stores, in favor of producing inefficient biofuels, resulting in food riots and starvation around the world.

It's my belief that over time, we'll get greener and more efficient. That has been the trend so far. But to turn back the clock, and to reduce the standard of technology and the bounty of the free market will cost lives and cause unnecessary suffering, for a scientific premise which has never been clearly established.

The AGW premise is, throw the baby out with the bathwater. Literally.

These people are population reduction fanatics.

Folks should give Aldous Huxley's "A Brave New World" a read. He predicts exactly what these folks are all about.

Let's be frank here - The real issue at hand is ushering in global governance via a bullshit scam based on Carbon (something that can be quantified - since we expel it everyday via our bodies, cars, factories, etc) and establishing massive taxation on the unknowing public.

nobody is disputing the fact that we haven't decreased the quality of our Air, polluted our waters, or ruined our soil. nobody is saying that all the stuff that is emitted into the atmosphere has no effect. WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT is Carbon Taxation based on global warming due to PPM of CO2.

This is the real problem with this discussion - Envirotards that don't really know what the fuck is going on, other than the bullshit they have been fed from their Leader AL GORE's FRAUDULENT Books, and movies (which you can buy for $29.95) that are full of lies and cooked data (cough, Univ. of East Anglie...cough, hide the decline...cough, hockey stick graph)

Get the data. Run the numbers....GLobal Warming based on Carbon (the real discussion) is a goddamn lie and you are a stupid asshole if you believe it. Matter of fact you deserve the taxation and global governance that will come with it if you support it...

NOW PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP ENVIROTARDS.

Those aren't talking points...

They are talking points. You've been influenced by very subtle indoctrination. Where else would you get this idea?:

arguing that this kind of warming that we are seeing today is the same as those cycles is wildly inaccurate.

Here you state there is warming; if you bothered to watch the first video, you'd have seen what most level-headed people already know: global temperature has actually gone down over the past 10 years. Not up - down.

I would encourage you to watch the first couple of videos with Lord Monckton - he really is a cool dude and everything he says is verifiable.

Awww, that poor widdle Gweenpeace lady!

Isn't this similar to the guy that was interviewing people at Palin's book signing (remember that video?) Awwww, those poor little Palin followers.....

Anyway, I think people should seriously look at this extremely compelling lesson below, from University of Boulder. (it's about the power of exponentials and the finite amount of oil we have)

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-QA2rkpBSY"]YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.[/ame]

Oil will run out...that is the problem. (oil use will become a small blip in human history, human history won't stop there either...)

What will replace it? I'm placing my bets on solar. As soon as our tech produces solar that is cheaper than oil this problem is solved....

There's nothing we can do to stop the extreme rate the world is consuming oil. Nothing we can do. Do you want to go back to pre-industrial times? No. Oil demand will remain until the day it's all used up.

People should stop focusing on reducing oil demand, essentially that's what they want to do. That ain't gonna fucking happen.

We need to focus on what is going to be the next supplier of energy to the globe.... (hint, hint:it's been burning there in the sky for billions of years....)

Damn, get your off-topic bullshit out of this thread, Troll.

300 years ago is incomparable to the last 30 years.

I totally agree. Insofar as the amount of oil that is being burned now as compared to then. People need to watch that video I posted... it isn't fringe material.

Say the world's power consumption increased per year at 5%. That's a DOUBLING of consumption every 14 years.... Power of exponentials at this point.....

In one millenia you would have SEVEN DOUBLINGS. 1,2,4,8,16,32,64

At the beginning of the millenia you would be at "1" by the end of the millenia you would be using 64 times that much. Then 128, 256, 512 and so on....till you get to 300 years like you said....yeah INCOMPARABLE.

Damn, get your off-topic bullshit out of this thread, Troll.

Troll:
One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.

Anyone who takes a look at the threads you've started will quickly see you fit this EXACT description.

So go fuck off, asshole.

you feel free to sit around and diddle yourself watching some brit with bad toofuses 'win' an argument with another European both of whose socialist systems vastly exceed that of yours and mine in the US.

I'll continue to make money with the 10 minutes that diatribe of politeness goes on.

Proceed towards failville, just take the 2nd left and you'll finally be there.

Or, if they were to just look at this thread, alone, they could see a bit of your your trollism showing.

You've structured this thread itself around hatin' on someone.

You're the fucking troll, Hellblazer.

Take a look.

shit, you cracked it.

Before anyone goes and fucks up...I'm not taking the side of the greenpeace woman here. Monckton stomped the shit out of her. I'm just looking at the bigger picture here...oil will run out, that is ultimate and for sure.

So lets start wiping our asses with leaves,go bankrupt as a nation, eat a once of greens a meal and bike everywhere we go. In the meantime China and India will laugh at us while they take over the world and continue to spew polutants like a damn chain smoker.

If man made global warming is a problem find alternatives to our power needs. Reduction will not work! Giving trillions to the UN will not work? Solar, wind and nuclear will not work in the short run. Find a real workable solution and THE WORLD will listen.

Exactly. (I still don't mind solar subsidies, though, when the solar subsidies of the 70s dried up so did solar power generation)

The only workable, short-term and cheap solution to our current energy needs is oil, nothing else.

I think solar will definitely be the ultimate answer.

Anything between using oil and using the sun directly are just steps in between.... (this will be the century of that transformation, imo)

Like he said, he's looking at satellite data. This method only goes back to around 1980 and can be influenced by things like volcanoes and changes in the ozone layer.

The traditional methods for recording temperatures, as used by NOAA and such, are showing 2000-2009 as the warmest recorded decade ever.
