I do not trust my government for shit. I certainly do not trust them to correctly/justly/fairly administer death to anyone. I will never understand conservatives who are in favor of the death penalty. That's the time you are going to give the government the benefit of the doubt? Really?

Conservatives who support the death penalty and the criminalization of pot are really, um, unaware, of the philosophical arguments for limiting the power of the State.
You just can't trust government to kill the right people. Yes it blows to let the murderers and child rapists live but a fascist government leads to control by psychopaths. Read history.
I'm not a fan of the death penalty, it's too easy. If there is overwhelming evidence that a person committed a major crime (planned murder, child molestation, etc) they should be sent to a lifetime of work (basically slave labor). Not this pussy ass watch tv, play basketball, workout jails. Mining, highway clean up, human test subjects - any job thats lacking in man power basically. They'll be giving back to the community for the rest of their life. Killing them would be too easy.

As a parent - I am 100% in favor of the death penalty for horrific crimes against children. That is vauge - on purpose - but I think we can all imagine them.
At the same time I am opposed to the death penatly for the same reason that ALL conservatives should be - conservatism is based on the principle that goverrnment is basically going to get it "wrong" a fair amount of the time.
If that is true then the crime/punishment system has to be included. Consequently there should be no punishments handed out that can not be remediated.
Still - if anyone EVER hurt my kids...revenge might be slow, but it would be thorough.

Make {him|her} read the entire Warrior Forum archives. Granted, it's not too humane but it would do the job.
While I agree murderers should get the death penalty, I don't believe it should be instant. There are plenty of cases where a person was condemned to death but then the evidence showed him to be innocent months or years later. Think of how many innocent people would die for no reason if the death penalty was an instant sentence. There are a reason procedures are in place. Just my two cents.
That being said, lethal injection is probably the best method right now. It's quick, it's painless, and it's hard to fuck up. A bullet to the back of the head might not kill someone instantly.

That might be the dumbest thing I've ever read here. "Those that defend the wrongly accused"... you don't? I'd love to hear your tune if you suddenly found your ass sat on death row having done nothing to warrant being there.
