In all seriousness you should do it for free or at least at cost. If you usually pay to outsource some of your SEO work, then show him that it costs "x" amount to outsource to this person, and be sure he realizes you are making no profit whatsoever off of it.

I second what was quoted. For family you just do it or ask for expenses to be covered and that is it using the businesses credit card so he/she sees everything that is going on.
I have set up 2 sites for Family/Friends. First was for a friends food shop. 90 minutes of my time = Free food for life. Perfect.
2nd site was for a family business. Now they continue to ask me when I am going to make it 10x better continually, mind you... FREE. God damn it. Fuck off! I already spent my time making you a free one,... now I don't even talk about websites and such with them.

I built out a site for a family friend for FREE and it turned out to be a fucking nightmare. SEO'd - $25 in social bookmarking which shot them to top 5 terms, etc all out of my pocket, and about 10 hours in work.
Then the nightmare started. "Can we rewrite this?" "How should we change this?" I did the whole thing in wordpress SOLELY so that they could manage it but then they refused to even try.
Of course let's not even MENTION all the 'hey can you show me how to make money online' friends/family we have who likely after a couple hours of you talking refuse to bother to buy a domain or hosting, and never get off their lazy ass.
Near the end of the bizop boom I forwarded a couple aff links and said "dunno, maybe this is more up your alley"
