Lebron James...

I think his best bet would be to go to the New Jersey Nets with the new Russian owner that has publicly guaranteed a Championship within 5 years.

If you look at any major league sport in America it takes an owner that is passionate about winning and will DO what it takes... mostly financially in order to secure that coveted WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

Also the largest television audience in the U.S. is the N.J. / N.Y. market :D

You mean the same loyal fans that booed him in the playoffs?

He got booed because he quit on his team. Nobody respects that shit - you play until there is nothing but zeroes on the clock.

As far as the Boys and Girls Club thing - please. That shit doesn't fool me - he's doing it to build his "brand", not raise money for the Boys and Girls Club. If he's so concerned about giving them money - he'd quietly write a check. It's like the famous actors that adopt little black babies from Africa, or Asian babies. There are plenty of starving white babies, but people wouldn't notice them as much. It's all about "look at me, look how great of a person I am." I can't believe a forum of marketers falls for simple shit like that.

Pistons Fan? If so, Shut up with the bitterness...

This free agent period has turned into one big whore fest, and not the money part, I'm a capitalist pig just like the next guy. But the chest pounding, ego fuck fest would've never happened in the days of MJ/Bird/Magic. These guys have done their best to isolate fans in their respective cities, and it ends with the self proclaimed "King" doing a one hour special...fuck off!

Kevin Durant just resigned and he did it quietly with no fanfare, old school style. No camera, documentary team following him, no 24/7 twitter updates, no one hour specials.

Dickhead stern can fine Mark Cuban 100K for saying he wants Lebron in Dallas, but the three amigos(Bosh, Wade, Lebron) can get together, collude, and totally reshape the eastern conference.

Not everyone is as lucky as Kobe and Jordan to get drafted by teams that actually have potential to win a championship.

Kobe yes.

MJ no. The Bulls were 55-109 in the two years prior to Jordan being drafted and they'd consistently been one of the worst teams in the NBA for the previous decade. Reinsdorf & Kraus were pitching pennies not paying for talent or coaching. The team played in a stadium that didn't even have a name. The day Chicago drafted Jordan changed everything for the Bulls.

Michael Jordan plays basketball better than anyone else in the world does anything.

Proceeds are going to charity. Just ESPN and the sports media drawing more attention to the sport. Ghasp, how horrible! Let's just all pay attention to reality TV, news media (depressing headlines/stories), or all the other things in our lives that don't need any talent.

lol LeBron LeBron lol

He's going to the Rockets; said he wants Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon to come out of retirement and play with him.

If he wants to donate to charity he can just write a check. Not even Kobe's mega ego would pull a press conference like this. This is a guy that has won ZERO rings.

If it's more about rings and legacy than money then I think it's between New Jersey and Cleveland. NJ's new owner is one shrewd dude. Let's remember that he made his money on deregulated russian oil. So he knows where the bodies are buried. Yet, I think he'll stay in Cleveland. Breaking up with his home team via a news conference would be cold hearted to say the least.

If he joins Miami then he will always have one less ring than Wade, IF they ever win one. You need a bench to go deep into the playoffs. Plus Bosh isn't all that great. Those three can't play every minute of every game.

We shall soon see.

No, I'm not a Pistons fan - not a big basketball fan at all. But if I was your comment still would make no sense since the Pistons have 3 championships in the last 20 years - how many do Cleveland, Miami and New York have combined? We've got a lot of problems in Detroit, but championships ain't one of them because we have more rings in more sports than any other city over the last 25 or 30 years. So suck on that.

Wade, Bosh, and Lebron is going to be interesting to say the least.

How many sports you counting?

Just counting the four major professional sports and 2 major NCAA sports in the last 30 years:

Detroit Lions = 0
Detroit Tigers = 1
Detroit Red Wings = 4
Detroit Pistons = 3

MSU Spartans Basketball = 2
Michigan Wolverines football = 1

Not to mention Tigers in World Series in 2006, Pistons made conference finals 6 years in a row, Red Wings are the Yankees of the NHL, etc. Shit even the Lions made it to the NFC Championship game in 1991. I'm pretty sure our WNBA team has a few too, but women don't count.

Really Chicago is the only city close, but they have 2 baseball teams and more colleges - I love Chicago though so I'll give them some props too.
