Lebron James...

Just counting the four major professional sports and 2 major NCAA sports in the last 30 years:

Detroit Lions = 0
Detroit Tigers = 1
Detroit Red Wings = 4
Detroit Pistons = 3

MSU Spartans Basketball = 2
Michigan Wolverines football = 1

Not to mention Tigers in World Series in 2006, Pistons made conference finals 6 years in a row, Red Wings are the Yankees of the NHL, etc. Shit even the Lions made it to the NFC Championship game in 1991. I'm pretty sure our WNBA team has a few too, but women don't count.

Really Chicago is the only city close, but they have 2 baseball teams and more colleges - I love Chicago though so I'll give them some props too.

LOL, you are aware that Detroit sucks right?

I want you to spend a week living down here and then go home and not become clinically depressed.

The country is circling the fucking drain and we have 24/7 coverage on where this fucking dipshit decides to go make billions of dollars throwing a ball around.

No wonder this country is so fucked up, if people payed this much attention to politics maybe we wouldn't be in the process of transforming into a 3rd world nation. Makes me sick.

Cavaliers: Open Letter to Fans from Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert

Dan Gilbert said:
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

Obviously Dan Gilbert put that letter out there to try and revive predicted ticket sale drops from Lebron leaving, and it's a genius move.

I don't think Chicago is the only city that is close. A quick glance at the lists of champions in the 4 major professional sports shows New York having the same, if not more, championships than Detroit. And I'm only counting the Yankees, Rangers, and Giants. I didn't look at any colleges, though. I don't think they have any colleges with NCAA championships in the past 30 years.

No, I'm not a Pistons fan - not a big basketball fan at all. But if I was your comment still would make no sense since the Pistons have 3 championships in the last 20 years - how many do Cleveland, Miami and New York have combined? We've got a lot of problems in Detroit, but championships ain't one of them because we have more rings in more sports than any other city over the last 25 or 30 years. So suck on that.

lebron bitched them around for the past 4 years, and he'll keep doing it with Dwade and Bosh

As for the weather, aside from the Hurricanes which come every few years (last one in 2005), I'd much rather take a 90-95 F day and 70's F night in July over your 30's F day and 10-20's F night. Heck, the last time I've personally seen, smelled, kicked snow was in 2007.

As for Palmetto bugs, I can count the times I've actually seen one on two hands. I'm curious, how many run down houses and homeless people have you seen in the past year?

The only thing good about Detroit is that it's the home of GM and near Canada.

You want to talk about a real mid-western city? Talk about Chicago.

Stupid move on LBJ's part. You need supporting players to win titles in the NBA and if any one of those guys gets hurt then they don't stand a chance.

The Pistons have actually won a Title since Lebron came to the league (should have been 2 if not for the sorry ass ref caught gambling on the games), so that would make the score Pistons - 1, Lebron - 0. But, aren't your lips starting to hurt being wrapped around his dick non-stop though? My bad - you're Thunderlips, so you must be able to handle it.

Agreed, big names don't win championships, well built teams do. They don't have any outside shooters, and they don't have a big man down low to check guys like Dwight Howard, so they are a long way from winning in the playoffs. Wade and LeBron are essentially the same type of player, so them being on the same team will create the opposite of a synergistic effect. Bosh is a nice Power Forward, so his numbers will probably stay comparable, but Wade and LeBron's numbers will both go down considerably.

Another thing to remember is LeBron can be called for offensive foul just about every time he drives the lane, but the league has let him get away with it. Now that he has pissed off and annoyed half the basketball world with his antics, those might start getting called more and that's about 75% of his game because he's really not a very good spot up shooter. He's already shown year after year in the playoffs that he's not a warrior and tends to get real small with the game on the line so those duties will have to stay with DWade.

We'll have to see what their final roster looks like, but unless they add a really good outside shooter like a Mike Miller, and a decent big man (which is hard to find) then I would say Miami has vaulted themselves all the way into about the #3 spot in the East behind Boston and Orlando. You guys crowning them already don't understand that 3 on 5 basketball doesn't work in the NBA - you need good role players and they don't have any.

this is what stern wanted and stern gets what he wants...

who's coaching the heat? and boston is still best in the east. lebron don't have the heart like the great ones. wade is good. bosh?? who's that...they might make it out the first round.

cavs fans, blame delonte for this..:D

how are you going to quote me and then not respond to what i actually posted... god you are dumber than your toilet of a state/ city.

I am talking about the last 4 years (since the cavs were real contenders) and the utter dismantling of the Pistons. ( i love yoiur comparison of the entire pistons team vs 1 man.. because that's really the only fair one. )

Keep hating on Lebron, it Doesn't matter. In a world full of athletes raping people (not talking about Kobe.. i dont think he raped anyone)and making dogs fight , the guy is a class act and a role model.
