First: I wish the psuedo intellectuals would read a book and learn what a liberal really is. You progressive, socialist are NOT liberals.
Progressives have historically been the true racist. They continue to stoke the flames of racism for their financial and political gain. They are morally and culturally bankrupt. They hate this country, it's founders and the constitution.

Look up the poverty statistics from the Census Bureau and you'll see there are more poor white people in this country than poor minorities. So explain those numbers since white people have it so easy...
The whole point of the article wasn't that Tyler P. Winthorpe III has it rough - we know he'll be fine. We know he's got money. We know he's got "house help". We know his daddy has connections and that he'll go to whatever school he wants and the cops will let him off easy when he date rapes little Becky. The point is that that doesn't represent the reality for most white people. You guys just happened to be lucky enough to not have to see that reality close up, but your distorted perceptions don't change things.

Yea, i'm going through college right now. All the free financial aid skips right over me. I'm "technically" rich compared to the rest of america, because my parents combined income is 6 figures. They don't factor in that I live in the top 10 areas with the highest cost of living and that my dad doesn't support me at all (and hasn't in 5 years).
So I get about 5g of "financial aid" (loans w/o interest) a year and get to pay the rest of my tuition with 10% interest loans.
who cares mexicans get free scholarships, they end up working in food joints or landscaping.

If it happens all the time, surely you can point out some number of instances of discrimination in your own life. If not, how about your immediate family?

You want to know the reason for affirmative action? Its a numbers game.
Minorities have less people in high paying jobs, less students in good schools, more people in jail, etc. etc. You can blame that on whatever racist belief you have; "they don't want to work hard, they're less intelligent, blah blah.". Or you can blame it on things like the lack of availability opportunity, family environment, role models, etc. Either way, anyone with a rational mind would understand that these numbers aren't proportionate to the rest of the population, and that something is wrong. And unless you do something to fix it, it will forever be wrong.
AA is there to fix it; it's not inherently fair, but equity and equality do not go hand in hand. You must lean one way or another. And when you're the privileged majority of a nation, of course you'll tell yourself that EQUITY = FAIRNESS. Believing in equity changes nothing for you, while believing in equality means you align yourself to policies like AA, taxing the rich, feeding the poor, etc.
