Why hasnt there been a lotion invented that makes it so I don't have to shave?

electric razor. a 90 dollar philips norelco and your set for years. I got my first one when i was 15, then replaced it when i was around 21. i didnt need to replace it, i was just too cheap to buy the replacement blades for 30 bux when i could buy a new one for 80. old one still works, i take it travelling, camping, or when the battery dies on the new one. i will say that i dont have grizzly adams-esque facial hair, so maybe it might not be for you.

Christ, I can shave in the morning and have a 5 o'clock shadow by noon. I don't mind shaving my face, but I'm seriously thinking about getting the laser shit done on my shoulders and back. That hair drives me fucking nuts and I hate shaving it once a week. My wife waxed my back one time, and it hurt like hell. I quit after like 4 strips. Felt like Steve Carell in 40 Year Old Virgin. A lotion that made it so you didn't need to shave for a couple weeks would be nice. Someone should get working on that.

Dude, I'm right there with you. At some point when I'm balling enough, I'm going to go to a specialist and see about it. I hear it's painful, especially when you have as much as I (and probably you) do. I'll let you know what the quote is up here in LA.

My shoulders and back are getting worse with time, too. I like my chest hair though.

In terms of shaving cream, I stopped using it at some point in college and have never gone back. Warm water is all I need, preferably BEFORE I shower when my face is a bit oilier. I have extremely thick skin, in both senses of the word.

I shave like once a week because I'm lazy, but I'm really hairy all over; back, shoulders, neck, etc.

I use an electric trimmer and razor. Trim at the closest setting where you want it bare, then use the shaver to get the stubs. Use a guard with length setting to trim the beard.

I've even started cutting my hair with the trimmer on #3. I have my wife do it; saves me $20.

Yeah, I've heard the laser treatment is pricey, and takes a while to complete. Chest hair doesn't irritate me either, only on my back and it's not overly hair, but enough to be a pain in the ass.

I've been shaving in the shower with a fogless mirror for years. Mach 3 plus a good gel shaving cream. With the grain and then back against it. I never get any cuts or nicks, but it just grows back so damn quickly.

1. Get a double-edged razor + accessories

2. Watch these videos to help you get started - http://www.youtube.com/user/mantic59

3. Forums for more info on which to buy etc... Badger & Blade

You'll never buy another disposable razor/mach3 shit again, and might possibly REALLY enjoy shaving from now on.

+ REP, just watched the videos. I'm in. Going to the store to buy the stuff right now

..yep i'm a nerd/consumer but this looks epic

Thats the beauty of the lotion that Im dreaming up, opposed to laser therapy or whatever. Just stop applying it one day and BAM!, 2 days later you got yourself a beard again! I like being able to grow a beard. I just dont like it when it requires me to shave every 2 days

When my father was in the army back in the 60's he was stationed in Korea, while walking through the jungle he developed a rash on the calves of his legs, he was given some type of lotion by the medic, after applying this lotion for several days he noticed
the rash was gone, but so was all his hair. To this day he still has no hair on his calves, but he can't remember what the lotion was.

Tell him to call that medic and find out what that shit was. We got's ta know.

Grow a beard - Only have to trim it, and your coworkers and higher-ups will think you're old and more capable. And you probably won't get carded at bars anymore.

For people who think it's bullshit that the inexpensive Gillette razors go dull after one shave, just so you end up moving to the expensive ones with 6 blades.....try this.. oxidation is the main killer of the blade, after you shave leave the blade in some grapeseed oil or some other facial friendly oil so oygen doesn't get to it....

also avoid Nair or Neet on your balls..

^^^ THIS

They actually sell lubricant sprays in aerosol cans exactly for this reason. I use it on my generic bulk bag of 2-blade store brand razors and each razor lasts me like a month of shaving 2-3 times a week.

^^^ I guess this too.

I'm curious, does anybody here use any of the depilatory creams for their heads? I'm too much of a chicken shit to actually try it but one day I bought some of this shit until I realized it was made for black people and contains some weird ass chemicals and smells like ass.

Investigating a good set of clippers for shaving my head to a zero quickly twice a week--suggestions welcome. So far I think I've narrowed it down to an Oster but not sure which I should get.

The laser treatments here cost about $100 a session (maybe $200 for beard + mustache). They recommend 2 - 3 sessions so a max of $600ish bucks for not having to shave, even if its only for a few years (I'm not sure how long-term it is) is worth it to me.

If it costs more than a couple G to do it in the states, just fly to Thailand and do it at Bumrungrad or Yanhee Hospitals (the 2 best hospitals in Bangkok)...

In fact, if you are sick with anything and the bills are over a couple k for whatever treatment you need, just fly to Thailand. You'll save a shit ton of money.

LOL@ THIS, it was probably some low grade poison

i use an electric shaver my parents got me when i was about 17, i'm now 23 and still using the same one with the same blades... its hardly a close shave and my skin is always red after using it but i dont give a fuck

I've never tried a Nair type cream for my head, but I can recommend these clippers for taking it down to bald Wahl Professional Division. You'll still have to use a razor if you want it dead smooth though. I've been using Wahl clippers for years. They're excellent quality, you'll find in most barber shops.
