Yeah yeah yeah more SOB stories. Well hey man my grandparents were Irish, they were spit on when they came over here about 90 years ago. In fact, my Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa dug holes for 25 years to pay for one child, my grandpa, out of a family of four to go to college. The thing you are missing here, Sr. (since you think you are so old), is the fact that statistics are not very accurate. Some black people earn a lot. Some white people earn a lot. Some black people are very poor. Some WHITE PEOPLE ARE VERY POOR.

Wouldn't it make sense to give scholarships based on lower income families, rather then ethnicity?

I mean, if the blacks and Hispanics are the only ones that are poor/come from harsh backgrounds, then surely they don't mind affirmative action being based on background/finances/etc ?
